MGM RESORTS PLANS 5,000-SEAT THEATER AT MONTE CARLO!

MGM Resorts International (NYSE: MGM) is going to build an approximately 5,000-seat theater at Monte Carlo. The new concert venue will be situated adjacent to The Park and 20,000-seat arena currently under construction on Las Vegas Blvd. between Monte Carlo and New York-New York. While The Park and arena are expected to open in April 2016, the Monte Carlo theater is projected to follow at the end of 2016. The theater will feature flexible space with seating that can easily transform into multiple configurations.

MGM Resorts, which sold more than seven million entertainment tickets in 2014, owns and operates in Las Vegas alone: two festival lots on the Strip encompassing 62 acres; seven theaters housing Cirque du Soleil production shows; 14 theaters for concerts, headliners and comedy performances; and more than two dozen lounges and nightclubs.

MGM RESORTS WILL MOVE ‘BLUE MAN GROUP’ AND ‘JABBAWOCKEEZ’

This fall “Blue Man Group” will move from their current home at Monte Carlo to the Luxor, which is where they were initially introduced to Las Vegas. The new venue for them is currently home to “Jabbawockeez” and it will allow “Blue Man Group” to transform its multi-sensory production into a custom impact experience allowing for the action and spectacle to be closer to the audience.

“Jabbawockeez” with its mesmerizing choreography, music and special effects will also change places and move to the MGM Grand. They will perform in the newly renovated theater currently occupied by “Beacher's Madhouse,” which will continue to feature the over the top Beacher's Madhouse shows every Saturday night.

‘AMERICA'S GOT TALENT’ WINNER MAT FRANCO WILL OPEN AT THE LINQ

Magician Mat Franco, the season 9 winner of “America's Got Talent,” will open on Aug. 5 with a full-scale residency production built on brand-new, never-before-seen material at the LINQ Theater that is currently being remodeled. He'll begin his 7 p.m. show “Mat Franco - Magic Reinvented Nightly” with preview performances through Aug. 16 and then have special performance schedule weeks through Sept. 20. Ticket prices start at $40.45 with a VIP Experience available with a $50 upgrade.

Almost entirely self-taught, the 27-year-old Rhode Island native began developing his own shows before he was 10 years old and was headlining his own show in Las Vegas by the time he was 15. Franco was the first and only magician ever to win NBC's “America's Got Talent” and largely because of his innovative approach to magic and signature brand of breezy humor.

AUSTRALIAN ‘AUSSIE HUNKS’ MALE STRIPPERS WILL OPEN AT THE D

More male strippers are coming to town with “Aussie Hunks” opening downtown at the D. This new group from Australia will feature eight classically trained male dancers tantalizing American audiences with an erotic hip-hop strip show. “Aussie Hunks” will perform nightly in the Showroom at 10:10 p.m. beginning Friday, July 31. Tickets start at $45. As a special bonus, each ticket includes a free “Croc-Tail” beverage; choice of house wine, domestic beer, well drink, soft drink or water.

The group collectively performed in Australia for more than eight years as “Hunk Mania Australia” and appeared on “Australia's Got Talent” and “So You Think You Can Dance Australia.” “Aussie Hunks” is the next generation for this male revue. Their seductive entertainment includes break dance, street dance, hip-hop, locking, popping and even illuminated-tron routines to fulfill every woman's fantasy.

HUSSONG'S SECOND VEGAS LOCATION OPENS IN SUMMERLIN

Hussong's Cantina that originated in Ensenada debuted its first U.S. location in 2010 at The Shoppes at Mandalay Place. Now the company known for their Original Margaritas has opened a second Las Vegas outlet and this time off the Strip in the Boca Park Fashion Village in a location vacated by Ember's Grille + Spirits.

The new 3,250-square-foot venue marks the debut of the first premium fast-casual location with a full bar, Hussong's notable ambiance, and a pared down menu for quick and easy service. Highlights of the new menu include expanded taco offerings with new to market specialty items and a salsa bar with a variety of interesting flavors. The Front Wall can close off the small outdoor dining patio or it can be raised completely opening everything up.

TRIPLE GEORGE GRILL CELEBRATES 10 YEARS DOWNTOWN WITH A PARTY

Triple George Grill located downtown at 201 N. Third Street is celebrating 10 years in Las Vegas this July with food and drink specials and a special event on Thursday, July 23. Priced at $15, Triple George's 10th anniversary event, which is open to the public, will take place from 8 to 10 p.m. Guests will enjoy live entertainment on the patio, passed hors d'oeuvres as well as a selection of wines and signature drinks. Attendees will also receive a thank you gift bag full of goodies.

Triple George was one of the first independent eateries to emerge in the beginning years of the revitalization of downtown Las Vegas. It is recognized for its power lunch specials, happy hour offerings and classic cuisine.

MAROON 5 WILL RING IN 2016 AT MANDALAY BAY EVENTS CENTER

Three-time GRAMMY Award-winning band Maroon 5 will return to Las Vegas for the fourth consecutive New Year's weekend with performances at Mandalay Bay Events Center on Dec. 30 and Dec. 31, which fall on Wednesday and Thursday this year. The shows will highlight the resort's annual “Paint the Town Gold” resort-wide celebration.

Tickets for each show range from $99.50-$225.50.

Maroon 5's last album “Overexposed” reinforced the group's powerhouse status with all of the singles rising to the top of the charts and setting an all-time record for the most No. 1 hits, six in total, by a group in the Top 40 chart's 20-year history. The group's latest release “V” debuted at No. 1.

JUSTIN MOORE WILL PERFORM AT DOWNTOWN'S EVENTS CENTER

Country singer and songwriter Justin Moore will perform at the DLVEC - Downtown Las Vegas Events Center on Saturday, Sept. 12. Tickets are $29 to $49.

Moore is the winner of the Academy of Country Music's 2014 “New Artist of the Year.” He gained popularity in 2009 after releasing his first single “Back That Thing Up.” Since then, Moore has continued to produce chart topping country hits earning gold certification for two albums and five No. 1 songs.

RICK SPRINGFIELD WILL ROCK THE JOINT WITH LOVERBOY

Rock legend Rick Springfield will headline The Joint at Hard Rock with special guest Loverboy on Sunday, Oct. 25 at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $39.50.

Springfield who throughout his career has sold 25 million records picked up his first guitar when he was 12 years old in his native Australia. He received a Grammy award for his No. 1 hit, “Jessie's Girl,” had 17 Top 40 hits and toured for more than 30 years.

Loverboy with its trademarked red leather pants, bandanas, big rock sound and high-energy live shows has sold more than 10 million albums and earned four multi-platinum plaques. The band's string of hits includes the anthem “Working for the Weekend.”

Legendary drummer Travis Barker will be the first artist to kick off a residency at Hyde Bellagio® on Tuesday, Aug. 18, and he's dubbed it “Give the Drummer Some.” Barker performing at the nightclub through 2016 will deliver powerful performances featuring tracks from his first solo album and showcase his visually stunning DJ and drum set. “Rolling Stone” named Bunker “punk's first superstar drummer.” Upcoming appearance dates are: Aug. 18, Sept. 5, Nov. 3, Jan. 2, Feb. 20 and March 19.

Due to overwhelming demand, additional shows have been added for the new residency featuring “Reba, Brooks & Dunn: Together in Vegas” at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The Country music powerhouses added shows on Tuesdays, Dec. 1 and 8.

GIADA INTRODUCES MONTHLY WINE DINNER SERIES

On Thursday, July 23 Giada, the restaurant located in The Cromwell and celebrating its first anniversary, will begin a monthly Wine and Dine series. This month at 6 p.m., Giada's team of sommeliers will guide participants through a wine pairing hosted by Allegrini Estates. Cost is $200, call 702-731-7778.

DOWNTOWN SUMMERLIN® HOLDS ‘GEEK CHIC’ BACK-TO-SCHOOL EVENT

The Howard Hughes Corporation® at Downtown Summerlin® will hold its first back-to-school event “Geek Chic” on Saturday, July 25 from noon to 7 p.m. The day-long event includes fashion shows at 2, 4 and 6 p.m., a presentation of fashion trends presented by FashionTrend.Vegas, an Instaprint Photo Booth, refreshments, a retail street scene, community performances and more.

Hosted in partnership with Zappos, “Geek Chic” kicks off at 1 p.m. with a Zappos fashion show. For parents, Zappos will take the stress out of shopping by offering chair massages as well as a phone recharging station.

As part of a retail street scene, many Downtown Summerlin retailers will host their own pop-up experiences and other Downtown Summerlin retailers will offer special discounts and promotions.

Coca-Cola is bringing out an air-conditioned refreshment station, to include a DJ, interactive Emoji wall and tasting lounge, all part of their Coca-Cola Teens Summer Sampling Program.

Shoppers who spend $300 or more in same day receipts from Downtown Summerlin shops and restaurants can redeem two free 2015 passes to Wet'n'Wild at the Concierge desk located in the breezeway of the ONE Summerlin Office Tower. Note it is one redemption per shopper, while supplies last.

Diana Ross had nine sold out shows at The Venetian in April and will be back in town for nine more dates in November. The encore dates for “The Essential Diana Ross: Some Memories Never Fade” show will be: Nov. 4, 6, 7, 11, 13, 14, 18, 20 and 21. Tickets start at $59.50.

Hard to believe the a cappella group “MO5AIC” has already closed at Bally's Windows Showroom. Some sort of dispute was involved and they are shopping for another venue.

Grammy nominated musician Joe Jonas will return to the DJ booth at Hyde Bellagio® on Saturday, July 25. Jonas' most recent studio album “Fastlife” debuted at No. 15 on the Billboard 200 and featured a remix of “Just in Love” with rap legend Lil Wayne. Most recently, Jonas starred in NBC's popular summer variety series, “I Can Do That.”

Willie Nelson with special guest Emi Sunshine will appear at The Cosmopolitan on Sunday, July 26 at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $35.

The 11th annual Reggae Wine Jam featuring Grammy winner Ziggy Marley will be held at Mandalay Beach on Friday, July 31 and feature more than 40 wines and a live concert. Tickets are $59.

A new broadcast studio is being unveiled at the sports-themed restaurant Lagasse's Stadium at The Palazzo. Construction began last summer on the Palazzo Broadcast Studio and was completed in the fourth quarter of 2014. Audio and video upgrades were done earlier this year. Shows currently broadcasting from the booth are “Sports X Radio” with Ken Thomson Monday-Friday and “Ballin' Live” with Tracy Murray, Van Colemen and Brett Garant on Tuesday. Two more shows are working on contracts.

In its sixth season, Temptation Sundays at the Luxor is a popular LGBT pool party that runs every Sunday through September from 1-7 p.m. On Sunday, June 21 there was a record attendance with 950 guests.

TREVI inside The Forum Shops at Caesars will commemorate National Lasagna Day with its deep-dish lasagna pizza and lasagna entrée, each specially-priced for the holiday exclusively on Wednesday, July 29. Pizza is $13.95 and Lasagna $17.29 for the day.

SIN CITY BREWING CO. INTRODUCES THE STRIP TO A GRAND CRU

Sin City Brewing Co. has tapped the newest beer on the Strip, the Sin City Grand Cru. As part of the brewery's series of higher alcohol seasonals, the Grand Cru is a strong Witbier complementing the hot summer temperatures. This is Sin City's first Belgian-style beer.

The term “Grand Cru” has its roots in wine, meaning a vineyard known for producing exemplary wines. In brewing, a Grand Cru designates a premium beer produced in a limited volume and usually a more elaborate version of a previous recipe. Sin City's rendition has higher alcohol content than a standard Witbier. The Grand Cru is available throughout August at Sin City's location on Las Vegas Boulevard at Harmon Corner and is arriving also at the Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian.

ADAM & EVE CHARITY LOVE FLING BENEFITS NEW VISTA

Azzurre Spirits is sponsoring the 12th annual Adam & Eve Charity Love Fling to benefit New Vista from 6:30 to 10 p.m. on Friday, July 24 at Hyde Bellagio. The event gives guests the opportunity to bid on dates with local celebrities and eligible bachelors and bachelorettes with exciting date packages including: helicopter tours; golf and spa packages; private wine tastings in Sonoma County, Calif.; a Diamond Membership to Front Sight Firearms; exotic car, Lamborghini and motorcycle rentals; luxury cruises and vacations; restaurant gift certificates and more.

ALIANTE HOLDS CHARITY BUNCO TOURNAMENT

Aliante will hold a Bunco tournament on Saturday, Aug. 15 at 7 p.m. to benefit the Goodie Two Shoes Foundation, a charitable organization that provides new shoes to disadvantaged children aged Pre-K through 21. There will be specialty cocktails, BUNCO Juice, and silent auction items offered as well as cash prizes. Players can enter in singles, pairs and in teams of up to 12. Players are also asked to bring a new pair of shoes in a box to benefit the foundation, and those who do will be entered to win an Aliante Staycation Package. Entry fee is $35, call 702-692-7530.

ECF HOSTS STRIKES FOR SCHOLARSHIPS BOWLING FUNDRAISER

Epicurean Charitable Foundation of Las Vegas (ECF) will host the 2nd Strikes for Scholarships bowling tournament fundraiser from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Aug. 15 at South Point. Registration is $35 for individuals and $125 for teams of five, call 702-932-5098. Beverage specials for the event will include $1 Bloody Marys and Mimosas.

ECF is comprised of 25 of Las Vegas' top food and beverage and hospitality executives. They are dedicated to ensuring scholarships and offering mentorship opportunities to financially-underprivileged Clark County students passionate about pursuing a career in a related field. For this fundraiser, the students plan the event.

FREE CONFERENCE AT SOUTH POINT COVERS FOOD SAFETY TOPICS

On July 29 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., the Nevada Food Safety Task Force is holding a free conference with registration required covering food safety topics. Some of the topics will include: Low Acid Canned Foods; Listeria Outbreak in Ice Cream; Food Safety Culture; and a demonstration on the art of fresh noodles. Attendees can earn NEHA approved CEUs.
