“iCANDY BURLESQUE” IS NEW EXPERIENCE AT TROPICANA
“iCandy Burlesque” is a new sexy experience at the Tropicana with talent performing on and off stage to enticing songs like “Striptease,” “Lady Marmalade,” “Naughty Girl” and “Fever,” to name a few. In addition to burlesque beauties in barely-there attire, there are aerial performances, platform dancers and stilt walkers entertaining throughout the night. Six table games feature “iCandy Burlesque” dealers in risqué clothing, mini stages in the cocktail areas, specialty iCandy cocktails, go-go dancers, special guest DJs and a Party Pit.
The “iCandy Burlesque” experience takes place in the Ambhar Lounge on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 8:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., with performances at 8:30, 10 and 11:30 p.m. Admission is free.

KJ KITCHEN TO OPEN SISTER LOCATION AT RIO
The Las Vegas-based Chinese restaurant, KJ Kitchen, will open its second location inside the Rio before the end of the year. The new eatery will debut the first KJ Restaurant dim sum menu, available during lunch. The 4,600 square-foot location will seat up to 350 people and be open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 a.m.
FLAMINGO REVEALS NEW ROOMS
The Flamingo plans to refurbish 2,307 hotel rooms into contemporary accommodations. The remodel is currently underway with the first 500 rooms being available Jan. 2, 2012, and plans to complete approximately 100 rooms every 11 days. Completion of the FAB rooms is planned for late 2012.
CIRQUE WEEK GOES BEHIND THE SCENES

JABBAWOCKEEZ WILL PERFORM AT MMA AWARDS SHOW
For the first time, the Fighters Only World Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Awards will be taped from inside the Pearl at the Palms on Wednesday, Nov. 30, and will premiere nationally on Sunday, Dec. 11 at 8 p.m. on FOX Sports. Additionally, the show will feature a live performance by Jabbawockeez, who headline in “MÜS.I.C” at the Monte Carlo, and be co-hosted by UFC middleweight star Chael Sonnen and sports reporter, Molly Qerim. Tickets are $59, $79 and $99.
MGM RESORTS GOES ALL OUT FOR WNFR
MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay, The Mirage, Monte Carlo, Excalibur and Circus Circus will feature a variety of live entertainment, live nightly broadcasts as well as a number of autograph sessions prior to and following all 10 of the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo performances. Check websites for details.
For the first time, the MGM Grand is unveiling a shopping experience with more than 60 rodeo brand vendors in its 90,000-square-foot Marquee Ballroom featuring tack equipment, rope making displays, fashion shows and an opportunity to win a horse trailer.
The Mandalay Bay Convention Center East Parking Lot will anchor the free expansive Cowboy Marketplace presented by Roper with hundreds of western vendors.
On Saturday, Dec. 10, The Mirage will host “The Official 10th Night PRCA World Champions Awards Show” and 10th Night After-Party. The evening's festivities will include a live performance by Warner Bros. recording artist Frankie Ballard, exclusive prize giveaways, celebrity appearances and much more. The Pub at Monte Carlo will have line-dancing lessons all 10 days from 5:45-6:45 p.m. and from 3-4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 4.
YOUNG SINGER ALEX CHRISTOPHER PERFORMS AT PALMS
Las Vegas-based singer Alex Christopher will perform at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. in The Lounge at the Palms on Wednesday, Nov.30. Christopher began singing at age 14 at retirement homes. He sings a large variety of music, but his primary focus is jazz, Tickets are $10 for the matinee and $12 at night.
AIDS EVENT PLANNED AT TROPICANA
Nevada AIDS Project will present a star-studded event for “Life's A Ball: A Celebration of Life and Journey Towards the Cure” at Club Nikki inside the Tropicana on Thursday, Dec. 1, beginning at 6 p.m.
Mya and Alicia Keys will be among the celebrities in attendance, Lorena Peril from “Fantasy” and Jaymes Vaughn from “Chippendales” will emcee, and entertainment will include performances by “Fantasy,” Recycled Percussion, Josh Strickland from “PEEPSHOW” and more. Admission is a suggested minimum donation of $20.
DRIVE-THROUGH HOLIDAY ATTRACTION HAS NAME CHANGE
The Gift of Lights drive-through holiday attraction with a name change to Glittering Lights at Las Vegas Motor Speedway is running through Jan. 1 starting at 5:30 p.m. nightly. Under new management, there are 400 illuminated and animated displays along a 2 1/2-mile route along the speedway property. A new feature this year is a YMCA-sponsored Santa's Village, free photo opportunities with Santa, strolling characters, and a heated snow castle tent.

Magician Rick Thomas, who headlined a seven-year-run at the Tropicana years ago, will do a Christmas show there Dec. 9-31. He’ll perform at 4 p.m. and take over the night time slot when Recycled Percussion goes on vacation Dec. 26.
The V Theater has a holiday show “Santa's Magical Circus” running now through Dec. 31.
X107.5 FM will hold its epic Holiday Havoc party in The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino for two nights. On Wednesday, Dec. 7, legendary rockers Jane's Addiction will headline and feature special guests The Naked and Famous and The Joy Formidable. Rise Against will perform on Thursday, Dec. 8, with special guests A Day To Remember and Middle Class Rut.
Opportunity Village's Las Vegas Great Santa Run will attempt to break the world record for the Largest Santa Gathering on Saturday, Dec. 3, at Town Square Las Vegas.
Sam's Town on Boulder Highway has transformed its newly renovated, pioneer-themed Mystic Falls Park Laser Light and Water Show into its annual whimsical winter wonderland with festive lighting, holiday trees, snowfall, animatronics, laser lights, water features and Cowboy Santa and Mrs. Claus.

NEW YEAR's EVE WEEKEND PARTY TIME
The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino will feature “Absolution, A Music Extravaganza,” a New Year's weekend-long celebration, Dec. 30-Jan. 1, with multi-venues and multi-performance experiences with more details to come. On Friday, Dec. 30, it will be “An Acoustic Evening with Corey Taylor,” the alternative musician and lead singer of Slipknot and Stone Sour, at Body English at 9 p.m. Tickets start at $35. “The Movement Presents NYE 2011 – The Black & White Extravaganza” will provide the party at Texas Station inside the Dallas Ballroom on Saturday, Dec. 31 at 9 p.m. This special event will be hosted by comedian Sweet Lou Collins and feature DJ Lexo. SKI & SNOWBOARD RESORT OPENS WITH UPGRADES
A revamped Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort at Mt. Charleston has opened for the season after $250,000 in technology upgrades. Lift tickets have been bar-coded and now you can buy season passes, which range in price from $200 to $650.
In addition, the resort began a $35 million master development plan last summer that will expand the number of trails to 50 and lifts to 10 and take 20 to 12 years to complete.
BELLAGIO INTRODUCES CONSERVATORY DOCENTS
The Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens is one of the best free attractions in town and attracts 18,000 to 22,000 visitors daily. For the many who ask questions about the plants, the resort has started a docent program – Mr. and Mrs. Green Thumb. From 10:30 a.m. to noon every day, a horticulturist is on hand wearing a special name tag to visit with the public and pass along knowledge.
The MGM Grand Garden will host Muhammad Ali's 70th birthday party on Feb. 18, 2012.
On Saturday, Dec. 3, The Venetian® will host live complimentary cooking demonstrations by Wolfgang Puck's Las Vegas Director of Pastry Kenny Magana from 2 to 3 p.m. in front of Postrio Bar & Grill inside St. Mark's Square. Viewers will learn how to make candy canes and flavored marshmallows.
The Capri Building at the back end of the Imperial Palace is closed and the scheduled demolition will start in December and be completed by early January. This will begin the initial phase to make room for Caesars Entertainment's Project Linq. The area will eventually become retail space.
During the National Finals Rodeo, country rock singer guitarist Brantley Gilbert will headline in the Veil Pavilion at the Silverton on Dec. 2 and 3 at 10:30 p.m. Uncle Kracker will follow on Dec. 9.
The next First Friday Las Vegas will take place Friday, Dec. 2 from 6 p.m. until midnight.
The outdated mauve exterior at the Las Vegas Convention Center will be going away. A makeover has been approved for $5 million to go towards décor and aesthetics, which will include silver paint, as well as refurbishing outside access.
The Western Casino downtown at 899 Fremont Street will close on Monday, Jan. 16, 2012. Owners Tamares Real Estate also run the Plaza, which just reopened after a $35 million renovation, and the Las Vegas Club downtown. The Western was built in 1970.
Tropicana headliners Recycled Percussion were forced to postpone their 24-hour concert on Nov. 22 due to illness. An alternative date is being sought.
Former Las Vegas major Oscar Goodman is filming a TV pilot, “Vegas Night Course with Oscar Goodman,” where he presides over real cases.
The Cabo Wabo Cantina and PBR Rock Bar & Grill in the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood will each offer 10 percent off meals when you present a Wrangler National Finals Rodeo ticket stub.
It will be “Date Nite” with free movies at 6:30 p.m. in the Veil Pavilion at the Silverton and “Elf” playing on Dec. 8 and “A Christmas Story” on Dec. 22. Drawings will be held during intermissions.
The Original Pancake House restaurant at Green Valley Ranch has closed and will be turned into a Grand Café and the one at Aliante Station has also closed.
