REMODEL PLANNED FOR BILL'S GAMBLING HALL AND SALOON!
Bill's Gambling Hall and Saloon formerly the Barbary Coast on the Strip will undergo a nearly $200 million renovation that will include remodeling nearly 200 rooms, the 17,200-square-foot casino and adding a rooftop pool and a new nightclub operated by Victor Drai. Renovations are expected to wrap up by the end of 2013, with the nightclub opening a few months later.

NEW CASTLE WALK FOOD COURT OPENS AT EXCALIBUR
The Castle Walk Food Court at Excalibur held its grand opening with former mayor Oscar Goodman and dozens of Strip entertainers. The innovative new food court introduces the first Cinnabon, Hot Dog on a Stick, Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, Pick Up Stix and Schlotzsky's to the Strip. The food area also features Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Tropical Smoothie Café, Auntie Anne's and Popcornopolis. In addition, the area features face painting, spray tattoos, oversized high-definition televisions for watching sports, flat panel screens as menus, an area for lounging, and the Big Chill, serving beer and cocktails.
COMMONWEALTH OPENS ADDING TO DOWNTOWN'S SOCIAL SCENE
The two-story bar Commonwealth is open downtown on East Fremont Street and will celebrate its grand opening on Wednesday, Dec. 12. The quintessential 6,000-square-foot cocktail bar is inspired by pre-Prohibition era design and libations, complete with its very own small backroom speakeasy. A 2,000-square-foot rooftop bar offers an open air setting for live music.
Commonwealth was designed to emulate an East Coast bar that has been sitting on the same cobblestone street for the past 100 years. The drink menu features a collection of the finest spirits and libations split into different sections including the “Common” and “Wealth” sections.
The lower level has a warm, incandescent lit atmosphere with dark, grainy wood and exposed brick on the walls and floor. Private conversation areas are on the perimeter with the center being a communal area with a 20-foot-long bar and two-long tables propped up by old-fashion radiators. The room's focal point in the center of the back bar is an oversized peacock. Hours are Tuesday through Friday from 5 p.m. to closing and noon to closing on Saturday.
LADY LUCK IS BECOMING THE DOWNTOWN GRAND
The former Lady Luck downtown is being transformed into the Downtown Grand and will open late next year in a five-block area that is also being reworked. The walkable Third Street corridor being dubbed Downtown3rd currently has Triple George Grill, Mob Bar, Hogs & Heifers, The Mob Museum and a weekly farmer's market on Fridays from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the former bus terminal. When completed the area will feature more retail, dining and entertainment options and will include Pizza Rock, which will occupy the old Celebrity Theater space at the corner of Third and Ogden. A retail center featuring 100,000 square feet of space is also in the works for a parcel of land adjacent to the Mob Museum on Stewart Avenue.
The two-tower, 650-room Downtown Grand hotel, which is joined by a pedestrian walkway over Third Street, has been completely gutted. When completed, the 30,000-square-foot casino will feature a factory design with exposed beams and brick walls and a new escalator bringing guests into the casino.
NEW HONEY SALT RESTAURANT SETS THE TABLE FOR COMFORT
Honey Salt is a new restaurant in Summerlin at 1031 S. Rampart Blvd. offering a farm-to-table inspired menu. It is the first independent venture from hospitality visionaries Elizabeth Blau and Chef Kim Canteenwall and it is inspired by the couple's passion for entertaining.
The décor features whitewashed brick, citrus green banquettes and an eclectic collection of mirrors mixed with antique chandeliers and mismatched vintage chairs to create a cozy communal space. Artwork from renowned food photographer and family friend Bill Milne and paintings by Blau's accomplished sister, Alex Blau, continue the family-friendly theme.
SOUTH POINT UNVEILS HALF MILLION DOLLAR RENOVATED SALON
Costa Del Sur Spa & Salon at South Point will unveil a fully-renovated salon on Saturday, Dec. 1 after the completion of a two-month project in which more than $500,000 was invested to create a vibrant new feel with upgraded treatment stations and a new menu of services.
Salon upgrades will offer cutting-edge treatments through the addition of five pedicure stations, five hair stations, three manicure stations and a new make-up station accompanied by a lavish state-of-the-art color bar. In addition, Costa Del Sur will be the only property to supply top-of-the-line TIGI Hair Reborn products.
For couples, there will be a couples only relaxation lounge and sauna steam Jacuzzi. The 40,000-square-foot Costa Del Sur features 28 treatment rooms.
TEENAGE SENSATION RYAN BEATTY VISITS HARD ROCK CAFÉ
Teenage singer-songwriter Ryan Beatty will perform at the Hard Rock Cafe on the Strip Friday, Nov. 30. Quickly gaining worldwide popularity, Beatty started out by uploading YouTube videos and building a worldwide following with more than 31 million YouTube views. Beatty then created his own YouTube Channel and became featured on “Billboard's” Top Fastest Rising Artists across Social Media Networks. After being nominated for a Teen Choice Award for “Choice Web Star” Ryan released his debut EP “Because of You” exclusively on iTunes, and within 24 hours it hit No. 1 Pop Album US Charts and No. 7 on the Top Album US Charts on iTunes, all without being signed to a label. SNOOP DOGG PERFORMS AT HARD ROCK CAFÉ
Hip-hop icon and legendary rapper, Snoop Dogg, will perform at the Hard Rock Cafe on the Strip on Saturday, Dec. 22 with special guests Pac Div. Dogg's music career catapulted to near-instant fame in 1992, when he was discovered by record producer Dr. Dre. With the release of Dogg's 11th studio album “Doggumentary,” his career continues to soar. Tickets are $49.50 in advance and $55 day of show.
ALICE COOPER HEADLINES AT THE PALMS
The pioneer of shock rock Alice Cooper will bring his theatrical music experience to the Pearl at the Palms on Nov. 30. For more than 40 years, Cooper has shocked audiences around the world with his live performances and wild stage antics. Tickets start at $49.
In 1975, Cooper joined forces with longtime collaborator and producer Bob Ezrin to record his first solo album “Welcome to My Nightmare,” a theatrical concept album about the nightmares of a young boy named Steven. Now, Cooper has followed Steven into adulthood and presents “Welcome 2 My Nightmare” (2011), a new but familiar concept album about the fear, anxiety and disgust that haunt Cooper's dreams in an era of Facebook, Lady Gaga, Sketchers and Angry Birds.
PHILLIPINES' MARTIN NIEVERA RETURNS TO THE SUNCOAST
“The Concert King of the Philippines” Martin Nievera will return to the Suncoast Showroom, Dec.15 and 16. Nievera performs his own hits including his signature “On the Right Track,” movie and soap opera theme songs, and his own adaptations from Broadway to Bublé. Currently, Nievera is one of four celebrity judges of “The X Factor Philippines,” and is the host of “A.S.A.P,” a musical variety show in the Philippines. Tickets start at $15.95.
MOB MUSEUM DOWNTOWN HOLDS REPEAL DAY PARTY
The Mob Museum downtown will celebrate our nation's constitutional right to imbibe at its Repeal Day Party, on Wednesday, Dec. 5 from 6 – 10 p.m. On Dec. 5, 1933, Prohibition was lifted and Americans could once again legally drink. This Roaring 20s after-hours party will have a historical setting with live music, vintage costumes, classic cocktails and other surprises.

WINTERFEST IS A THREE-DAY EVENT IN HENDERSON
Henderson will host WinterFest – An Old-Fashioned Christmas Delight, Dec. 13-15. The free weekend celebration will feature holiday family traditions including: horse-drawn carriage rides, carolers, evening light parade, a carousel, gingerbread house display, craft bazaar and more at the Henderson Events Plaza.
The Henderson Symphony Orchestra concert featuring holiday classics and several local high school choirs will perform on Thursday, Dec. 13 at 7 p.m.
On Friday, Dec. 14 from 6-9 p.m., Santa Claus will arrive and the Henderson Christmas tree will be lit.
On Saturday, Dec. 15 from noon – 8 p.m., the celebration will feature strolling carolers, the Festival of Trees, storytelling, pony rides, musical recitals by local children's groups and other holiday activities. The grand finale will be the Light Parade at 5 p.m.
SELENA GOMEZ WAX FIGURE VISITS MADAME TUSSAUDS
Selena Gomez's wax figure dressed in a holiday-inspired outfit is on display at Madame Tussauds through Jan. 31. Through Dec. 24, visitors can fill out letters addressed to Santa and drop them in the mailbox for the figure of Gomez to deliver to the North Pole. Madame Tussauds will remain open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Christmas Eve and Day. The attraction will close at 5 p.m. on New Year's Eve and at 9 p.m. on New Year's Day.
HENDERSON HOSTS 11TH ANNUAL HENDERSON 250 DESERT RACE
For the 11th consecutive year, Henderson will host the Best in the Desert Henderson 250 off-road race championship weekend, Nov. 30- Dec. 1. The event features pre-race festivities, including tech and contingency and a fan expo on Nov. 30 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., concluding with the Henderson 250 Desert Race and points battle decision for the 2012 racing season champ. More than 150 race teams, representing 30 professional and sportsman classes, are expected to compete just 35 minutes south of Henderson in Jean, Nev. Spectator admission is complimentary.

IGN PRO LEAGUE HEADS BACK TO SIN CITY FOR IPL 5
