Emmy Award- winning comedienne Lawrence became a star when she was part of the legendary cast of the "Carol Burnett Show." In the seventh season at the ripe old age of 24, Lawrence created her most endearing character, Thelma Harper, or "Mama" as she is better known. After the Burnett show, Lawrence went on to star in "Mama's Family," which consistently topped the ratings for its entire six-year run.
Lawrence also became one of the few successful female game show hosts when she took on the daytime version of "'Win, Lose or Draw." She further perfected her hosting skills on her own daytime talk show, "Vicki!," from 1992-1994, becoming the only talk show host since Oprah to be nominated for an Emmy in her freshman year.
Laughter is provided by comedians weekly at the River Palms when they take center stage at the River Palms Comedy Room. Comedians Dennis Blair, Guilden and a comic TBA will perform Nov 25-29. Blair is a true Renaissance man. He is an accomplished screenwriter, award-winning songwriter and comedic actor. Yet he is probably best known for the caustic observations and musical satires of his live comedy performances.
Early in his career, Rodney Dangerfield made him his protééé, and together they toured the United States and Canada for more than three years. Blair conceived and co-wrote Dangerfield's hit movie, "Easy Money," and also played two cameo roles. He co-wrote and was a featured actor in two Dangerfield specials on ABC, and was creative consultant for the album "Rappin' Rodney."
His post-Rodney career has seen him opening for a multitude of celebrities including George Carlin, with whom he toured for over 18 years. He has a book, "Me First," about his experiences opening for some of the most famous celebrities in show business. He has released two standup comedy CDs, "Live Performance Anxiety" and "Words, Music and Drunks" as well as an album of original songs called "I Sleep Naked in the Rain."

The man who made Elvis laugh, Sammy Shore will appear at the Tropicana Express on Nov. 21 and 22 in "Sammy Shore: Two Gals & A Geezer Dinner Show." Cost is $25 with dinner at 7 p.m. and the show at 8 p.m.
Shore is an American comedy legend. He founded the Comedy Store on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles and was handpicked by Colonel Parker to be Elvis' opening act during the King's famous 1969-1972 "Comeback Tour" in Las Vegas.

The 18-hole Desert Lakes Golf Course is located 15 miles south of Laughlin Bridge off Hwy 95 at Ft. Mohave, Ariz. It has a par 72, 6,500 yards, and rating of 69.5. Other features include small trees, open fairways, water, and an 8-acre driving range with island greens. Green fees include a cart and vary depending upon season; Jan-May, peak, Sept-Jan, shoulder, and June-Aug, off season; call 928-768-1000 or 1-888-768-4653. Snacks, beverages and club rentals are located at the clubhouse.
The Laughlin Ranch Golf Club is located at 1360 William Hardy Drive in Bullhead City, Ariz. This 18-hole championship course has a par 72, 7,297 yards from gold tees, rating 73+, and a rolling terrain with elevation changes, water hazards, bridges, waterfalls, and numerous bunkers. It's a brand new course so numerous trees are still small. Fees are seasonal and they include cart, range balls and bag handling. There is a current nine-hole rate special. Driving range fees are $10 an hour and lessons are available from PGA staff. Current tee times are 8 a.m.-3 p.m., MST; call 928-754-1243 or 1-866-684-GOLF. There's a full service snack bar.
The Mojave Resort Golf Club at 9905 Aha Macav Parkway is located next to the Avi Hotel & Casino south of Laughlin off Needles Highway. This18 hole, par 72, 6,939 yards, rating of 73.2 championship course has a rolling terrain, water hazards, natural sand dunes and numerous bunkers. Rates including twilight rates are competitive and adjusted seasonally; call 702-535-4653. All rates include cart, range balls and bag handling. Driving range fees are $7.50 for a half hour and $10 for an hour. Lessons are available from PGA staff and sandwiches, snacks, beverages can be purchased.
Laughlin's newest 18-hole championship golf course is the upscale El Rio Golf Club located in Mohave Valley, Ariz. The course is designed by Matt Dye, who is the nephew of famed golf course designer Pete Dye. El Rio is highlighted by scenic views of the surrounding mountains, gentle rolling and forgiving fairways, undulating greens, and four holes with water features. The course is a par 72 and offers four sets of tees ranging from 5,300 to 7,100 yards in length to accommodate all playing levels.
The El Rio's Spanish, mission-style clubhouse features the Terrace Restaurant, which includes a spacious dining room, bar, patio, and a private meeting room. Additionally, the clubhouse features a fully stocked golf shop. For information, call 888-88-ELRIO.
The Chaparral Country Club at 1260 E. Mohave Drive in Bullhead City, Ariz., is five miles south of the Laughlin Bridge. This nine-hole course is par 32 (2,400 yards) with rolling terrain, trees and water. Call for fees and information 928-758-6330.
