LAUGHLIN ATTRACTS BIG NAMES
Country artist Gary Allan will perform at the Rio Vista Outdoor Amphitheater at Harrah's on Saturday, Sept. 11. This Platinum recording artist recently released his new album, “Get Off On The Pain,” featuring the title track and hit single, “Today.” Tickets start at $35 for the 8 p.m. show.
Legendary country singer-songwriter, Willie Nelson, will headline at Harrah's Rio Vista Outdoor Amphitheater on Saturday, Sept. 25. Over the past 40 years, this iconic performer has recorded some of the greatest hits in the American songbook. Through the years, he has acted in several films such as “Electric Horseman,” “Honeysuckle Rose,” “The Dukes of Hazzard” and “Beer for My Horses.” Nelson is also known for his philanthropic efforts for Farm Aid. Doug Kershaw, affectionately known as the “Ragin’ Cajun,” will perform at the Riverside in Don's Celebrity Theater Sept. 14-19 at 8 p.m. With signature hits like “Diggy Diggy Lo” and “Cajun Baby,” the world-renowned fiddle player and singer/songwriter continues to expand his musical boundaries. Tickets are $30.
David Hasselhoff, who is on this season's “Dancing with the Stars” on ABC will grace the stage at the Riverside in Don's Celebrity Theater, Sept. 22-26 at 8 p.m. Hasselhoff is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as “The Most Watched TV Star in the World” thanks to starring roles in both “Knight Rider” and “Baywatch.” His musical career took off in the late 1980s when he recorded the album, “Looking For Freedom,” at the end of the Cold War. The song became an anthem for the German people. He has since garnered more than 40 gold and platinum records worldwide. Tickets are $34.
Comedian Bill Engvall will stop at the Riverside Amphitheater on Sept. 18. Known for his signature “Here's Your Sign” jokes , the actor/comedian's true comic talents have been seen on shows and movies such as the sketch comedy show “Blue Collar TV” on the WB Network; the Blue Collar Comedy Tour; and the “Blue Collar Comedy Tour: The Movie,” in addition to other Blue Collar Comedy ventures. TROPICANA HOSTS NATIONAL KARAOKE SINGING CONTEST
The Talent Quest National Karaoke Singing Contest featuring finalists from regional contests around the country and world will take place at The Pavilion Theater at the Tropicana Express, Sept. 20-25. The talent will appear in a variety of categories: Male Pop/Rock/R&B, Female Pop/Rock/R&B, Male Country/Western, Female Country/Western, Male Age 50 & Over and Female Age 50 & Over. RYAN BINGHAM & THE DEAD HORSES PLAY HARRAH's
Ryan Bingham & The Dead Horses will perform in the Fiesta Showroom at Harrah's at 9 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 10. Tickets start at $20.
Bingham began bull riding in his late teens and spent several years on the rodeo circuit. Since then, the singer/songwriter Bingham has released three albums on the Lost Highway Records label with the first being in “Mescalito” in October 2007. Bingham's third major label release, “Junky Star," was released on Aug. 31, 2010.
Bingham performed two songs for the soundtrack of the movie “Crazy Heart,” including “Don't Know,” and the theme song, “The Weary Kind.” Bingham also wrote “The Weary Kind” and had a small role in the film as Tony. On Jan. 17, 2010, Bingham was awarded the Golden Globe for Best Original Song at the 2010 Golden Globe Awards and won Best Original Song at the 2010 82nd Academy Awards.
‘COMEDY ON THE EDGE’ IS EDGEWATER MAINSTAY
The Edgewater is continuing with its ongoing “Comedy on the Edge” in Kokopelli's Showroom every Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 7 p.m. Each show features two stand-up comedians. Upcoming acts are: Sept. 10-12—Marc Ryan and Frazier Smith; Sept. 17-19—Vic Dunlop and Sean McBride; Sept. 24-26—Jack Willhite and Chris Dunham; and Oct 1-3—Don Barnhart and Murray Valeriano. Through stories of personal adventures, Marc Ryan captures the characters of his life like Steve with a cunning perception. In 2008-09, Ryan toured with Rodney Carrington. He's made frequent appearances on syndicated radio shows like “Bob and Tom” and “John Boy and Billy.” All three of Ryan's live albums are ranked among the most popular on the Sirius XM Comedy channel's Blue Collar, Raw Dog and Laugh USA.
Currently Ryan can be seen on CMT's “Greatest Redneck Moments” and Rodney Carrington's music video “If you’re the only one.” Most recently, he performed stand up on the comedy special for TBS entitled, “Pit Stop Comedy.”
COLORADO BELLE HOLDS MEXICAN AND GERMAN EVENTS
On the Riverwalk between the Colorado Belle and Edgewater, the Belle will be holding Mexican and German themed events. On Sept 17 and 18, “Fiesta” will have music by Rumbale, Mexican food and carnival games. “Das Beer Fest” with German music by The Polka Dudes, food and carnival games is scheduled Oct. 1-2 and 8-9. Both free events will be held from 3 – 10 p.m. with food and drinks sold separately.

The Riverside will hold "Roddin' on the River" in its South Parking Lot Sept. 23-26. The annual fundraiser car show hosted by the River Cruizers Car Club of Bullhead City will showcase hundreds of classic cars. The Edgewater Parking Lot will be the site of the “West Coast Bike Fest” on Sept. 24 and 25. This event includes a bike stunt show, pool party and concert.
AVI PROMOTES BLUES CONCERTS AND A FUNDRAISER
The Avi is holding two free “Blues on the River” concerts from 7 – 10 p.m. with $13 themed dinners on the Beach Overlook Area. The Rhythmic Bacon Blues Band will lead off on Sept.11 with a Foodie Fiesta dinner. On Sept. 18, it will be John Earl & The BoogieMan Band with a BBQ and Brats dinner.
On Sept. 10, the local Boys and Girls Clubs are holding their annual “Fiesta” fundraiser featuring local casinos and restaurants with a Best Margarita and Best Booth contest and hors d'oeuvres at the Avi Convention Center from 6-10 p.m. Cost is $35; contact Terrie Thomlinson at 928-763-1411 for more information.
