SHANIA TWAIN COMMITS TO CAESARS PALACE RESIDENCY
It's in the distance, but Shania Twain, international superstar and the world's best-selling female country artist of all time, has confirmed that she will return to the stage and vocal spotlight with a two-year residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. Twain recently received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and with her first memoir entitled “From This Moment On” climbing the New York Times Best Sellers list, Twain's meteoric star continues to shine bright. Her docu-series on OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network “Why Not? With Shania Twain” debuted on May 8 as the-highest rated premier to date for the network.

PLAZA DOWNTOWN SET TO REOPEN SEPT. 1
The Plaza downtown will reopen on Sept. 1 after an extensive remodel job to the 40-year-old property. The hotel-casino closed in September 2010 for a $35 million renovation of the casino, restaurants and more than 1,000 hotel rooms. The rooms have been refurbished with new wall coverings, furnishings, floors and fixtures, all purchased at a discounted price from the halted Fontainebleau project on the Strip. One amenity not returning to the Plaza is Firefly, a tapas restaurant formerly located in the glass dome overlooking Fremont Street.
GEORGE LOPEZ PERFORMS FOR FIRST TIME AT THE MIRAGE
Popular comedian, actor, author and talk show host, George Lopez, will make his debut at The Mirage, Aug. 12-13 and Oct. 28 29 and do 10 p.m. shows. Lopez currently stars in the late-night show “Lopez Tonight” on TBS. Tickets are $69.99 to $89.99.
Lopez has made more than 200 television comedy, talk show and host appearances, including co-hosting the Emmy® Awards and hosting the Latin GRAMMY® Awards twice. In 2004, he released his comedy album “Team Leader” which earned him a GRAMMY® nomination. His 2009 comedy special, “George Lopez: Tall, Dark and Chicano,” was the highest-rated stand-up special on HBO in five years. CONNIE STEVENS-JOHN BYNER PERFORM AT RIVIERA
The multi-talented actress, producer and recording artist Connie Stevens will take the stage at the Riviera with accomplished actor and comedian John Byner, July 6 - 17 in the Starlite Theatre. Shows will run nightly Wednesday through Sunday at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $39.95 and $59.95.
Stevens' musical career spans over 50 years and began when she first sang in a group called The Three Debs at the age of 16 prior to being a solo artist with the Warner Brothers label. Stevens recorded major hits in the 1960s including “Kookie Kookie (Lend Me Your Comb),” a duet with Edward Byrnes and “Sixteen Reasons.” In the hit series, “Hawaiian Eye,” she was propelled to fame. Her television work also includes “Maverick” as well as “77 Sunset Strip,” “Wendy and Me” with George Burns, several other television roles and movies.
Hailed as a “Man of a Thousand Impressions,” Byner's stand-up comedy career began in New York's Greenwich Village at Max Gordon's jazz club, Village Vanguard, and then he became a major opening act. Byner's television career began on Merv Griffin's “Talent Scouts Show” in 1964 and success ensued with appearances on network shows and starring roles.

NORM CROBSY PERFORMS AT SUNCOAST
Norm Crosby aka “The Master of Malapropos” with a knack for intelligent wordplay will bring his trademark act to the Suncoast Showroom, July 16 and 17. Funnyman Sammy Shore, the man who made Elvis laugh, will open for Crosby.
Crosby is known for his ability to substitute words for similar sounding words to create a phrase that ultimately makes little sense, but is typically funny. He began his stand-up career in the 50s, has made hundreds of television appearances and been an actor on many series. Crosby was a fixture on “The Dean Martin Celebrity Roasts” on NBC, ridiculing and embarrassing his fellow comedians and entertainers. In 1967 he recorded a comedy record, “She Wouldnt Eat The Mushrooms,” which is now available on CD.
Shore was founder of the Comedy Store on the Sunset Strip and the comedian hand-picked by Colonel Parker to be Elvis Presley's opening act during Elvis' “Comeback Tour” in Las Vegas.
