THE SOPRANOS LAST SUPPER

Went to the Krave Nightclub the other evening (on Harmon adjacent to the Aladdin Hotel) to see a new show called "The Sopranos Last Supper," an interactive show with a cast of at least 20 guys and gals. If you have seen or read about "Ba-Da-Bing," which has been around this town for a number of years, then you are familiar with this type of show.

But, got to be honest here, this is not like the other show, which is opening at another location in a few days. It has some good points, but one of the bad points is that it's at least an hour too darn long for the typical Las Vegas audience. The show, which has other productions across the country, can get away with it in Boston, San Diego, Chicago or other cities that do not have the entertainment we have here. On the night we were there, at least half the house had departed by the midway point. The good points are in the acting and singing:

The Sopranos Last Supper

The cast includes Lou Diamond as Tony Baritone, Carrie Saloutos as Carmela Baritone and Kara Cohen as Meadow Baritone. There's lots of music, plenty of dancing including at least two conga lines that wind through the casino and the food is excellent. About forty minutes into the show you're invited by Big Tony to participate in a dinner saluting him and his pals. A buffet has been set up in the back of the room as a buffet, where, according to the producers, the menu will vary each night.

They have a fabulous singer in Janien (Masse) Valentine playing the part of Dee Dee Diamond. This is the same gal who for a couple of years was a featured singer with Clint Holmes, starred as Esmeralda in "Notre Dame de Paris" at the Paris Hotel and was voted "Best Female Thespian" by the Review Journal Readers Poll in 2001. She is a belter gang! She looks fabulous considering she just gave birth to her second child two months ago. There is also a three-piece band along with singer John Mattalia.

General admission (which includes the dinner only) is $95 plus tax, preferred goes for $125 plus tax. Call 1-800-944-5639 for further information.
