When I first saw Ayala in Spellbound at Harrahs, you could see he was an up-and-comer. He has returned to Las Vegas with his very talented partener, Tanya, at Caesar's Magical Empire through December 8. Ayala has been awarded France's highest magic award, The Mandrake d'or. His "Ayala: The Time Is Now" is a TV special seen all over the world. Catch Ayala and Tanya before they escape...

What a way to start the party! "Legends In Concert," which goes a little country for the NFR season, opens with the hot rockin' Ray Anthony as the "California Kid," Ritchie Valens. From "La Bamba" to "Oh Donna," Anthony covers the hits of the musical superstar with precision and personality, before turning over the stage to other tributes such as Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, Madonna, Liberace, Elvis Presley and more. The cast is always changing, which has kept the show fresh for more than 18 years in the center of the Las Vegas "Strip." Don't miss "Legends In Concert" at the Imperial Palace, twice nightly at 7:30 and 10:30 p.m., except Sundays... and watch for a New Years surprise... more details coming soon...

It seemed like the whole world turned up to attend the Maloof's grand opening of their posh Palms Resort & Casino. Everyone was there to see and to be seen. It is a must visit, if only one time. More on the opening next week...

After our tour of Palms, we hopped across the street to the Gold Coast where General Manager Mike Growney was on hand for the grand opening of their new buffet. It is a real treat, be sure to try it...

Comedian / actress / pianist / conductor Phyllis Diller returned once more to the Suncoast Hotel & Casino to a thunderous welcome from a packed house. She did her one hour of zany one-liners and split... Looks like the gremlins goofed on my last column: Lori Buckley is now residing in California but is not married. Tycoon Frank Military has been happily married for years. Pardon the error...

Tony Orlando firmed for Orleans Dec. 21-23... Frankie Avalon and Bobby Rydell's Orleans weekend, Nov. 16-18, drew big numbers. I enjoy their every outing. I finally got to visit Sazio's, where good food and courtesy were abound... Opening nighters were thrilled to see Charo back in town. Her gig at the Venetian should be an eye-opener.
