Our WGN Chicago show was the first to carry Hugh Hefner's initial interview for his magazine. In town as guest of honor for the Palms Soiree, we recently reminisced about our chat with him and various Playboy mansions in New York, Florida, St. Louis, Lake Geneva (Wisconsin) and many others...

Financial necessity forced the Bill Acosta Show to close at the Flamingo...Comic Babe Pier is hosting "Breakfast with the Classics" in Branson, MO...Mandalay Bay line up includes Gloria Estefan November 3 and Joe Cocker with The Guess Who October 19. Andrea Bocelli wraps up December 29...

The Riviera surprised the Strip by cutting out SPLASH shows on Friday and Saturday and also by closing their Comedy Club temporarily...Coast Resorts here has not laid off any employees and are continuing with the expansion at the Orleans...

Time is running out to enjoy a tropical summer's eve at the Imperial Palace's seasonal "Hawaiian Hot Luau." If the weather stays warm enough, the hula dancers with entertain through Thursday, October 25. The "Hawaiian Hot Luau" is a fun-filled evening, poolside every Tuesday and Thursday, featuring a lavish buffet, unlimited mai-tai and pina colada drinks (fruit punch too) and a fantastic performance by Rozita Lee's "Drums of the Islands." The luau season is from April to October, only at the center-"Strip" Imperial Palace Hotel & Casino...The Imperial Palace also announced no lay offs at the privately-owned property...

Chirp Patti Smyth joins Don Rickles November 15-18 at the Stardust...On September 30, the Suncoast Hotel's Italian Room did 4 turnovers and you needed a shoe horn to get in there, and into the showroom for the Lettermen...Hear the Righteous Brothers are switching to the Hilton.
