If you are planning a vacation or holiday trip, remember where you always had a great time. Las Vegas, of course...

Singer / actress Lisa Donovan at the Paris Hotel during October...Vegas resident, former champagne-lady Helen Ramsey Lawsen has checked out of the hospital...Comic Joe Trammell switched from "Showgirls of Magic" to the Riviera's "Crazy Girls"...Mandalay Bay set for The Guess Who and Joe Cocker October 19, Gloria Estefan November 3 and Andrea Bocelli for December 29...

Veteran Las Vegas entertainer Danny Gale has returned to the Kabuki Lounge, just inside the front doors of the center-"Strip" Imperial Palace Hotel and Casino.  Performing nightly from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. through October 13, Gale presents an all-around fun show with singing, dancing, comedy, banjo, guitar and trumpet playing. His high-energy variety act also includes some fantastic vocal impressions of such stars as John Wayne, Dean Martin, Johnny Cash, Tom Jones, Nat "King" Cole, and, of course, Elvis Presley. Don't miss this fantastic performer, as well as Ron Livingston from 4:30 - 8:30 p.m. nightly, at the Imperial Palace's intimate Kabuki Lounge...

Lee Greenwood told me that he had been looking forward to the Yankee Stadium Salute. Same for Kenny Rogers, who will be back here in October...Tony Orlando's Branson Yellow Ribbon Salute to the Veterans firmed for November 11...

90-year-old Fred De Cordova, who produced the Johnny Carson show, died. He loved working here...

As I mentioned last week, we talk too much about what's on our military's agenda. NBC News is the first to crack down using WWII's "loose lips sink ships"...Shame on those criticizing Las Vegas for tight purse strings. The MGM / Mirage sent 1 million dollars to Southern Nevada Red Cross, as did Mandalay Bay. KLAS-TV 8 received more than 1 million from Las Vegas viewers. Wells Fargo raised more than 1 million -- Donrey Media more than $65,000 and on and on and on.
