We're glad to here that Jerry Lewis is now out of the wheel chair. His MD found out his aching back problems...His Honor, Mayor Oscar Goodman heads up a list of 7 dignitaries to attend the June 14 Marilyn's Charity Center at Anthem Country Club in Henderson. Call 740-5297 for info. The Marilyn Monroe Gala is ably handled by Bettina Bates aka Marilyn Monroe.

Speaking of his Honor, Mayor Goodman recently addressed the National Tourism Luncheon, where faux celebs like the Riviera's Larry Edwards from "La Cage" greeted guests and helped hand out Elvis glasses and pink feather boas. Hundreds of hotel representatives, including the cast of "Legends In Concert," showed up at the new South Hall of the Convention Center to salute tourism's recovery in Las Vegas. The event was co-sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce and Las Vegas Convention Visitor Authority. Kudos to Chair, Imperial Palace's Connie Ross.

Co-producers Dan Rodriguez and Will Roya are hosting "The Soul of Magic" starring Victor and Diamond at the New Frontier Hotel & Casino for an indefinite run...Charo is playing to good houses at the Sahara and even finds time to fulfill "cancelled and postponed" dates because of her commitments here...The 7th Annual Teacher's Conference had famous tenor Stan Borys entertain over 700 guests at the MGM. In fact, Marlene Ricci had Stan do a couple of tunes in her show at the Riviera. Like many other celebrities these days, Stan plans to make Vegas his permanent residence.
