The Tyson decision shocked the heck out of a lot of people in Vegas... "Tony Orlando Day" has been confirmed for June 4 at Chicago's Wrigley Field... My dear neighbor, Salvatore Caruso, celebrated his birthday recently ringside at Tony Orlando's show...

With a little push at age 14 from Duke Ellington himself, Cookie Watkins set off on a singing path that now spans two decades and leading her center-"Strip" Las Vegas as the one and only Tina Turner in "Legends In Concert" at Imperial Palace. Having studied classical music at the Settlement Music School, Temple University and the Manhattan School of Music, Cookie turned to popular music when she realized how long it would take for her career to peak in opera. Today, her tribute to Tina Turner is "Simply The Best," as she joins other superstars such as Elvis, The Temptations, Tom Jones, Celine Dion, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, twice nightly, 7:30 and 10:30 p.m., except Sundays, in "Legends In Concert," only at the Imperial Palace. For tickets, call (702) 794-3261...

Chirp Marlene Ricci opened to a full house at the Riviera January 29... The Platters are currently appearing at Sam's Town in Branson, MO... The Polonez Restaurant is scheduled to open in March, more details as the date draws closer...

"Any Banner, Sign or Flag" got overstocked on US flags due to a shipping error; they are currently offering great prices. For info, call 734-7446 (outside NV, call 800-200-8450)...

Extremely well-groomed sports announcers Pat Sommerall and John Madden announced that they will be ending their broadcast partnership after 21 years as a team. Sommerall retired after the Super Bowl... Super Bowl XXXVI was made even more exciting with Maria Carey singing the National Anthem and former President George Bush allowing Roger Starbuck to toss the coin.
