MS. SENIOR AMERICA PAGEANT TO TAKE
PLACE AT IMPERIAL PALACE
December 5 - 6
They have style...they have
grace...and they all have to be 60 years and older. The 21st Annual Ms.
Senior America Pageant will take place in the Imperial Theatre showroom at the
Imperial Palace Hotel & Casino, center-"Strip," with the preliminary round
on Wednesday, December 5, and the National 2001 Finals on Thursday, December
6.
The Ms. Senior America Pageant is a national,
not-for-profit organization that works toward presenting the positive aspects of
aging and to act as an educator. Contestants from around the country
participate in four categories: personal interview, inner beauty ("philosophy of
life"), evening gown and talent. The pageant celebrates the vitality of
today's senior woman and applauds her accomplishments in the community, state
and nation.

Much like the contestants in the first Ms.
Senior America Pageant back in 1972, today's contestants are models of
volunteerism, serving in organizations ranging from traditional community
service and church groups to advocacy organizations, such as municipal Senior
Citizens Advisory Councils, the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP),
Elder Advocates and so forth.
With entertainer Steve Rossi
as Master of Ceremonies and production assistance from John Stuart, creator of
"Legends In Concert," this year's pageant will be full of fun competition.
Patti Gallagher, Ms. Senior America 2000 of Palm Springs, California, will be on
hand to crown the new Ms. Senior America 2001.
The
800-seat Imperial Theatre, located on the third floor of the Imperial Palace,
will house this year's pageant with ticket prices of only $15 each for the
preliminaries and finals, December 5 and 6. Activities on both days begin
at 1 p.m. Tickets are available by calling the Imperial Palace Show
Reservations at (702) 794-3261 or toll free (888) 777-7664. More
information about the pageant or advance ticket sales are also available through
Mr. Al Mott, (732) 531-0606.
