"The Rat Pack Is Back!" At The Sahara Hotel And Casino

"The Rat Pack is Back!" now in its second year at the Sahara Hotel and Casino, took over the hotel's Congo Room in March 2000.

"The Rat Pack is Back!" is a trip back in time when swank ruled the stage, when booze, broads and good times were the only things on the to-do list of the charismatic ringleader and his boys. When savvy dames and swingin' cats were as much a part of Las Vegas culture as slot machines and table games and entertainers were well known for their witty banter and musical stylings that were smooth as silk.

For those of you who missed them the first time around, "The Rat Pack is Back!"

The brainchild of Don Reo and David Cassidy, "The Rat Pack is Back!" is a tribute that recaptures Vegas' glory days with its timeless appeal. A group of talented performers recreate this legendary Las Vegas dynamic. The performers' backgrounds in comedy, dance, celebrity impersonations and music make this production an authentic replication of the celebrated era. "The Rat Pack is Back!" made its original debut at the Desert Inn in July 1999 were the show received numerous accolades from local and national media including being named one of Las Vegas' top ten productions that year.

The time is Dec. 12, 1961, the occasion, Frank's birthday party. One by one, the boys gather, offering barbs, love songs, and Candy, in the form of the stunning Christine Anderson. This is the "Rat Pack" for a new generation. You need not know more than whom the original members were to enjoy this show. Backed by the incredible Lon Bronson Orchestra, the audience gets the full big band effect.

The Sahara is the only hotel and casino left standing where the original Rat Pack played. "The Rat Pack is Back!" has found a home in the 550-seat Congo Room. Many legendary performers, including Tony Bennett and Marlene Dietrich, made their Las Vegas debuts in the original Congo Room in the 1950's.

Show times for "The Rat Pack is Back!" are 8 p.m. on Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, with 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. shows on Mondays and Wednesdays. The show is dark on Thursdays. Ticket prices start at $39.95 plus tax and service charge and are available at the Sahara Box Office, (702) 737-2515, among other locations.
