Thanks to the Sahara Hotel for the wonderful press party and especially for bringing Charo back to her home at the north end of the strip. Her new production, "Bravo", is a high energy, action packed extravaganza with dancers, comedian Sammy King or The Apollo Brothers juggling, the aerial adagio of Cees & Cathy, flamenco dancer Pablo Pizano, and as if that's not enough, we have our healiner, Charo! She is as beautiful and energetic as in her performances of twenty years ago and the talent displayed in her guitar solos is extremely moving. Her comedic skills are as strong as her musical prowess and her "Cuchi - Cuchi" ain't too bad either. Call the Sahara box office at (702) 737-2515 for reservations. (dark Thursdays)
The Susan McDonald Band is performing in Le Cabaret at Paris. The sound is the key as the voices and music created by Pete Sprague, Sean Barney and Steve Grantham combine with the luscious tones of Sue's own voice. The blend is as delicious as a Mocha Chocolat-a ya-ya. It takes an act of this caliber to precede the incredible Cat Daddy whose extended run in the same venue has set a record at nearly two years. Both bands really draw the crowds and the occasional tribute en francais is always there to make you feel like you are really in Paris.
The fantastic Groove City Band rolls into Caesars and will perform on Barge on May 30 - June 1, and in La Piazza on the 2nd and 3rd. June 6 - 8, back on the Barge.
