Country music legend, Mel Tillis will star in Don's Celebrity Theatre at the Riverside from Nov. 26-30. Tickets are $32, call 1-800-227-3849.

Mel Tillis has recorded over 60 albums, and has had 36 Top Ten singles. Nine of these singles, including "Good Woman Blues" and "Southern Rain," made it to the number one spot. In 1993, Tillis released hit first gospel album, "Beyond The Sunset," and his most recent album, "Old Dogs," received a nomination for the 1999 Vocal Event of the Year by the Country Music Association.

As a songwriter, Tillis has written over 1,000 songs and as an actor, he's appeared in many feature films, including "Every Which Way But Loose" and "Smokey and the Bandit II."

One of his hobbies is painting, which has enabled him to help raise money for the Scottish Rite Foundation. One thousand autographed prints of his painting Masonic America are being sold, and Tillis gives all of the profits to the foundation.

Glen Campbell and Ann-Margret are on the November calendar to headline at the Flamingo in the Ballroom. Campbell will lead the way with a Christmas show on Nov. 29, and perform amid a holiday setting with his daughter Debby. Tickets are $24.95 and $29.95, call 800-435-8469 or 702-298-5111.

Campbell is one of the music world's most enduring performers captivating country fans for over four decades. As one of the most gifted guitarists in the industry, Glen has collaborated with such artists as the Righteous Brothers, Merle Haggerd, Dean Martin, Elvis Presley and has toured with the quintessential all-American group, The Beach Boys.

Campbell has released more than 70 albums that garnered over 45 million records. In 1999, he expanded his repertoire with the release of a series of gospel albums that earned him a prestigious Dove Award.

Ann-Margret, the consummate entertainer who has been nominated for Emmys, Oscars, Golden Globes and Grammys, will headline on Nov. 30. Tickets are $34.95 and $39.95

Her autobiography, "My Story," reached the New York Best Seller list a week after its release. In 2001-2002, she completed an 18-month tour with the multi million-dollar production "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas," and recorded the show's soundtrack.

On Dec. 6-7 at the River Palms Event Center, the AAU Drug Free World Bench Press, Deadlift and Championships featuring men and women weightlifters in a variety of classes will take place beginning at 9 a.m. each day. Women and men under 181 pounds will compete on Saturday and men over 198 pounds will challenge on Sunday. The spectator fee is $10 each day, call 1-800-835-7904.

Slot players may pick up some extra cash for the holidays by entering Harrah's WinterFiesta Slot Tournaments, from Dec. 8-12. Harrah's will giveaway $5,000 in total prize money during this promotion.

Customers may enter the tournaments for $10 per person, per session or free entries may be earned by hitting any hand-paid jackpot on slots or video poker. In order to participate, entrants must be Total Reward members.

The tournament sessions are played daily, and the top 20 scores of the day will play in the final session at 4 p.m. for $1,000 cash. Players may enter as many times as they wish and play in as many sessions as they like.

The prize pool for the finals is as follows: first place $350, second $200, third $100, fourth through tenth $50 each and a special prize for eleventh through twentieth. Advance registration is not required. Visit the tournament area located in the banquet rooms between 9:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on the day you wish to play.

On Nov. 28 and 29, the Avi will be holding its Chili, Bikes and Blues event, which is a combination of chili, a motorcycle ride with a poker run and bike show, and blues music featuring Buddy Reed and The Rip It Up Band and John Earl and the Boogey Man Band and Rufnecks. On Friday and Saturday throughout each day, visitors can view the bikes and listen to the music for free. It's $10 to register bikes and the chili is sold separately. The event will happen in the southern parking lot.

The Ty Herndon and Debra Allen Christmas Show is scheduled at the Ramada Express, Nov 28-30, at 8 p.m. Tickets are $19.

The Riverside Resort will highlight "Country Christmas," a tribute to country music stars show from Dec 1-15, at 7 p.m. Tickets are $22. "The Nutcracker," the traditional holiday ballet will follow from Dec 18-21, at 7 p.m. Tickets are $18 for adults, and $10 for children 12 and under.

On Dec. 12, "Friday Night Fights," featuring live pro boxing, will take place at the Edgewater / Belle Event Center. Tickets are $20 general admission and $30 ringside. Additional "Friday Night Fights" are scheduled for January and February, with dates to be determined. For ticket information or advance tickets, call 877-480-2747.

Popular Las Vegas performer, Earl Turner is presenting his soulful, high-energy show in the Fiesta Showroom at Harrah's through year-end 2003. Turner and his eight-member band moved from the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in

Las Vegas in March 2002 to headline the Fiesta Showroom. He performs everything from gospel to rhythm and blues, pop to rock 'n' roll.
