At a mere 21 years of age, Rimes is already a superstar with a lifetime of accomplishments including winning two Grammies and one was for "Best New Artist," which marked the first time a Country artist ever captured that honor. At age 13, she earned two Grammy Awards for "Blue," her debut album in 1996 that sold eight million copies. Rimes new Curb Records release is "Twisted Angel."
Trick Pony is Country music's best selling new group of 2001. Canadian award winning artist Aaron Lines released his debut album, "Living Out Loud," in 2001 and it debuted at No. 9 on the Billboard Country charts.
A new exhibition featuring 21 works done by the French Impressionist painter, Claude Monet, will be on display at the 2,600-square-foot Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art from Jan. 30 to Sept. 13, 2004. This will be the gallery's fifth exhibit since 2002.
The paintings will be on loan from the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, which has the biggest Monet collection outside of France. The show will include "The Water Lily Pond," "Water Lilies" and "Grainstack." All works were done from 1864 to 1905.
Born in Paris, Monet is known for his depiction of landscapes and seacoast views. He was particularly adept at using natural light.
The record-breaking annual touring spectacular, Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO) will return to Las Vegas on Saturday, Dec. 6 when it brings holiday cheer and its most elaborate production to date to the Aladdin Theatre. TSO is celebrating the fifth anniversary of its "Christmas Eve & Other Stories" tour this winter.
The group was founded in 1996 and made its inaugural seven-show tour in 1999. Since then, TSO's holiday tour has grown exponentially from year to year. Taking a cue for Broadway, the group split into two touring groups in 2000. Tickets are $29.50 and $39.50; call Ticketmaster at 702-474-4000.

Actress / comedian and comedy club alumni Caroline Rhea will headline the "Catch A Rising Star" comedy club on Nov. 14 and 15 with $100,000 Star Search Winner, comedian Mike Saccone opening the show. Her stand-up training came from a year of nightly gigs at the New York Catch A Rising Star club. Her career now includes credits like six seasons as the feisty Aunt Hilda on "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch" and a supporting role with Jim Carrey in the feature film "Man on the Moon," the story of the late comedian Andy Kaufman.
The 2003 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo will once again be held at the Thomas and Mack Center from Dec. 5-14. This year marks the 45th anniversary of the event and the 19th year in Las Vegas.
An annual highlight is the Cowboy Christmas Gift Show that is held in conjunction with NFR. It will be held at the Las Vegas Convention Center in the North Hall from Dec. 4-13, and feature 400 vendors in a 200,000-square-foot exhibit area.
Station Casinos has announced plans to spend $110 million on a hotel expansion at its top locals' property, Green Valley Ranch. The investment will produce 296 new rooms, 25,000 square feet of extra meeting space and an expanded spa. Right now, the hotel has the minimum required 201 rooms. Construction is set to begin before the end of December and should be completed in about one year.
In addition, the company is working out controversies so it can build its Red Rock Station project in Summerlin. Plans call for the project to begin in the middle of 2004 and be completed in 2005. It's predicted that the first development phase for this project will cost upward of $400 million.
Amazing Johnathan is moving back to the Golden Nugget downtown on Jan. 13, after he completes his one-year deal at the Flamingo on Dec. 14.
For the third year in a row, plans call for fireworks to light up the Strip at the stroke of midnight on Dec. 31. Fireworks will explode from ten Strip sites: the Excalibur, MGM Grand, Monte Carlo, Ballys, Flamingo Hilton, Venetian, TI, Stardust, Circus Circus, and Stratosphere. The Rio will once again be the command center.
It turned out to be a short run for Little Anthony and he Imperials at the Riviera. They are closing tonight. Also, Ray Brown Jr. is no longer working in the Le Bistro Lounge. On the other hand, Dr. Scott Lewis, the "Outrageous Comedy Hypnotist," who works the room on Monday nights at 10 p.m. will perform his "Mindblowers" show tonight and next Sunday, Nov. 16.
