Guests who register with the Riverside's King of Clubs Players' Club have a chance to earn certificates for a free turkey and pie from Nov. 1 - Dec. 31. For every 500 points earned at a single rate, members receive a $5.00 voucher toward any purchase of a turkey, pie or other items at any Safeway affiliated store. The limit is 100 cards per customer, per month.

The Laughlin Team Roping Finals, Nov. 19-22, will attract approximately 2,000 top steer ropers from the Western United States to compete in the 8th annual United States Team Roping Championships at the Laughlin Events Arena. The free event will take place Friday-Monday from early morning to dusk, call 505-899-1870 for more information.

The Flamingo Laughlin's Passport to Poker Paradise promotion offers a chance to win over $100,000 in cash, prizes and a trip to Jamaica.

Throughout November, players may earn tickets in a variety of ways to qualify for the two-minute slot tournament. For information, call 702-298-5111 or 800-435-8469. The winner advances to spin the Reggae Wheel and play the Passport to Poker Paradise Game Board.

The contestant starts out with seven cards that are exchanged for spins on the Reggae Wheel in an attempt to ultimately collect the right combination of cards to win the Royal Flush prize or other bonuses. The Reggae Wheel has a variety of spots each representing a card from a standard deck, as well as the two bonus slots-Paradise and the Flamingo. Once the contestant spins, the corresponding square on the board will light up, showing the amount of money won. The game continues until the contestant is out of spins. The contestant may also exercise the option to exchange their sixth and seventh cards for additional cash.

At the conclusion of the game, the emcee checks the game board and determines which bonuses the contestant has won. On Dec. 2, daily winners of the Flamingo's Passport to Poker Paradise are invited back to play in a Tournament of Champions. One lucky tournament winner will receive a trip to Jamaica in addition to their cash winnings.

Drawings are held daily at 1 and 6 p.m. at the Center Stage. Five contestants will play a two-minute slot tournament to determine who will continue on to Flamingo's Passport to Poker Paradise. All non-qualifying players will receive 10,000 Connection Card points, dinner for two in the Paradise Garden Buffet, two tickets to "A Really Big Shew" and a game souvenir.

Country singer, songwriter, actor and humanitarian Mel Tillis will appear, Nov. 16 - 21, in Don's Celebrity Theatre at the Riverside. Tickets are $32, call 702-298-2535.

Tillis has recorded over 60 albums, and has had 36 Top Ten singles. In 1993, Tillis released his first gospel album, "Beyond The Sunset," and his most recent album, "Old Dogs," received a nomination for the 1999 Vocal Event of the Year by the Country Music Association.
