BIER GARTEN WILL OPEN AT THE PLAZA IN MID-NOVEMBER!

The team that opened the Pop Up Pizza outlet in downtown Las Vegas will soon open Bier Garten, an indoor/outdoor 160-seat eatery offering German-inspired food, microbrews and imported beers on tap in a relaxed beer garden setting in front of the Plaza with the tagline “Beercraft and Foodery.” This new urban oasis overlooking Fremont Street will utilize picnic tables, real grass, trellises and greenery to create its backyard, beer garden experience and open in mid-November.

FLAMINGO RENAMES SHOWROOM AFTER OSMOND HEADLINERS

Flamingo Las Vegas has renamed its iconic showroom the “Donny & Marie Showroom” after America's most beloved brother-sister duo, who, after recently celebrating their five year anniversary at the property, signed an extension to perform through 2014.

GOLDEN NUGGET FEATURES NEW SHOW, ‘SPANK! THE MUSICAL’

The Golden Nugget has booked the saucy new show, “Spank! The Musical” into its 600-seat showroom, Oct. 18-Nov. 9. The show is a parody on the famous book that caused a world sensation. Tickets are $35, $45 and $55.

FREMONT STREET EXPERIENCE HOSTS FIFTH OKTOBERFRIGHTFEST

Fremont Street Experience will once again transform itself for the Fifth Annual OktoberFrightFest, combining Oktoberfest and Halloween for the ultimate street party Oct. 7-31. The spooktacular festivities will include free performances of the production show “Frank & The Steins,” Viva Vision light and sound shows themed to “Time Warp” and “Monster Mash,” and the fourth annual Fall Beer Festival at the Golden Nugget Oct. 18-19.

LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL FESTIVAL UNVEILS DOWNTOWN FESTIVAL AREA

The combination of city and festival grounds for the Life Is Beautiful Festival will encompass for the first-time a 15-city block in historic downtown Las Vegas and feature music, food, art and learning event Oct. 26-27. ‘LAS VEGAS ROCKS VARIETY SHOW’ TAPES WEEKLY

Entertainer Tony Sacca recently celebrated his 50-year anniversary in showbiz with a special edition of “Las Vegas Rocks Variety Show” filmed live at The Railhead at Boulder Station. The show airs the following Saturday after taping. For the anniversary show, Sacca was a surprise member of the sexy male revue “Thunder From Down Under.” The hour-long “Las Vegas Rocks Variety Show” tapes before a live audience and is free to watch every Friday at 2 p.m.

KIRILL WAS HERE WILL PRESENT ‘LAS RAGEOUS’ AT TAO

Provocative nightlife photographer Kirill Was Here will return to LAVO Nightclub in the Palazzo and host a five-date residency beginning Sunday, Oct. 20. After introducing his Kirill Was Here brand to partygoers in July 2013, his controversial “Champagne Facials” photographs were the seed for Kirill's exclusive Las Vegas residency - “Kirill Was Here Presents Las RAGEous” - that will include outrageous champagne-soaked antics.

MGM GRAND EXPANDS DELOS-DESIGNED WELLNESS HOTEL ROOMS

The MGM Grand and Delos, the pioneer of Wellness Real Estate, are continuing to set the standard in healthy hospitality with the expansion of Stay Well, the world's first-ever wellness hotel rooms. After positive response and strong occupancy since inception, Stay Well at MGM Grand is expanding from 42 to 171 rooms and suites to encompass the entire14th floor of the hotel's main tower.

MANDALAY BAY HOSTS SLACKLINE WORLD CUP FINALS

A record-breaking highline walk attempt will take place Wednesday, Oct. 16 from the exterior of Mandalay Bay, 63 floors above the Strip. Andy Lewis, the daredevil Gibbon athlete and slackliner made famous for his Super Bowl XLVI halftime show performance with Madonna, will attempt to set the world record for walking the longest urban highline forging a 480-ft. high, 360-ft.-long slackline, rigged from two of Mandalay Bay's resort towers. This event will kick off to the public 2013 World Slackline Federation (WSFed) Slackline World Cup Finals taking place Thursday, Oct. 17 inside the Michael Jackson ONE Theatre.

MARGARITAVILLE HOLDS ‘ST. SOMEWHERE’ PRE-CONCERT PARTY

On Saturday, Oct. 19, Margaritaville will kick off its annual Margaritaville weekend parties to coincide with Jimmy Buffett's Las Vegas concerts at the MGM Arena on Oct. 19 and 26. On both dates, the 11 a.m.-6 p.m. free pool party at the Flamingo Las Vegas Go Pool will offer interactive games, food and drinks, live entertainment by Tommy Rocker and giveaways.

OPPORTUNITY VILLAGE DEBUTS ‘HALLOVEEN’ EVENT

The first-ever “HallOVeen” event created by Opportunity Village is open to the public every Friday through Sunday from 5-9 p.m. in October at the Magical Forest, 6300 W. Oakey Blvd. The family-friendly event features The Haunted Adventure, nightly parades, crafts and movies, rides, Magical Midway with fun games, events and entertainment. Adult passport with unlimited rides is $19.99, child passport $17.99, and general admission is $11 and $9 with unlimited ride wristband $12.

LAX NIGHTCLUB CELEBRATES SIXTH ANNIVERSARY

LAX Nightclub at the Luxor will celebrate six successful years on the Las Vegas Strip Friday, Oct. 11 with an exclusive performance by the world-famous dance crew, Jabbawockeez. The original champions of MTV's “Randy Jackson Presents America's Best Dance Crew” will take a break from “PRiSM,” its new hit show at Luxor, to commemorate the hot spot's anniversary.

TODD KERNS PERFORMS SPECIAL SHOW WITH SIN CITY SINNERS

Currently on tour with Slash, former Sin City Sinners singer Todd Kerns will reunite with the band for a one-night only special performance at the Lounge inside the Palms on Saturday, Oct. 12 at 10 p.m. The show is free. Sin City Sinners are Las Vegas' top headlining rock band that began in 2007 as a weekly ‘just for fun' jam at a local dive bar. They have released three original CDs.

THE TRILOGY OF TERROR CELEBRATES 21ST ANNIVERSARY

The Trilogy of Terror, featuring “Circus of Horrors,” “Castle Vampyre” and Nevada's first and only R-rated attraction “Gates of Hell,” is celebrating its 21st anniversary. Originally founded in his home in 1976 by Duke Mollner, The Trilogy of Terror was ranked the fourth best haunted house in the world by www.tophaunts.com. Located at 2321 N. Rainbow Blvd. at the AMC Theatres Rainbow Promenade 10, The Trilogy of Terror is open from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 7 p.m. to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, as well as Oct. 30 and 31.

LUIS ALBERTO URREA SPEAKS AT VEGAS VALLEY BOOK FESTIVAL

Mexican-American writer Luis Alberto Urrea will deliver the 2013 Vegas Valley Book Festival (VVBF) keynote address, sponsored by the Black Mountain Institute, on Saturday, Nov. 2, at 5 p.m. at the Historic Fifth Street School downtown. Urrea has documented the life of “the border” through 14 books in a range of genres. His 2004 nonfiction account of immigrants lost in the desert, “The Devil's Highway, ” was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize. VVBF now in its 12th year presents four days of literary events that are free to the public.

PBR CELEBRATES 20TH ANNIVERSARY IN LAS VEGAS

For the 20th consecutive year, the world's top 35 bull riders and the fiercest bucking bulls will return to Las Vegas for the richest bull riding event, the 2013 Built Ford Tough World Finals Oct. 23-27 at UNLV's Thomas & Mack Center. The World Finals offers a total purse of $2.2 million, including a $1 million bonus to the 2013 PBR World Champion, who also receives the coveted World Champion belt buckle.

COUNTRY SINGER SAM RIDDLE WRAPS UP ARTBEAT FALL SEASON

Rising country singer Sam Riddle wraps up the ArtBeat presented by Target fall season at the Henderson Events Plaza on Friday, Nov. 1. Montana native, Riddle for the past seven years has regularly headlined venues and festivals throughout Nevada. Admission is free. HENDERSON HOLDS NEW CRAZY SPOKES EVENT

New bicycling event Crazy Spokes on Saturday, Oct. 12 at Mission Hills Park in Henderson had to cancel the 60-mile course because of the government shutdown. However, the 30-mile ride and free family festival from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and bike parade at 11:30 a.m. will continue. Bike parade is $1 per entry.

One year after Eli Roth's Goretorium opened its doors on the Strip, the haunted attraction has closed.

Sammy's Restaurant, Bar & Grill has officially opened in Henderson and is open 24-hours daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The Los Angeles Lakers will host the Sacramento Kings in the first-ever NBA pre-season matchup at the MGM Grand Garden Arena Thursday, Oct. 10.

One Kick's Gym, founded in 1993 and known in the United States as the top training camp in Muay Thai boxing and mixed martial arts, will present Fight Night #2 Muay Thai Kickboxing Championships at the Cannery on Friday, Oct. 11. Tickets start at $20.

Smashburger has launched its brand-new Beer and Burger Pairing Menu at all eight Southern Nevada locations. Smashburger partnered with local brewer Joseph James Brewing Company to match seven of its most popular burgers with craft beers.

Las Vegas will soon host scheduled nonstop service from Switzerland following an announcement that Edelweiss Air will make McCarran International only the second U.S. airport in its growing international network.

The Sun City MacDonald Ranch Literary Society will host 91-year-young Don Hill and singer Jeanne Brei for an author's book signing and discussion of “House Party Tonight! The Career of Legendary Saxophonist Don Hill” book on Sunday, Oct. 13 at 2 p.m. There will be a 20 percent book discount.

Emeril's New Orleans Fish House at the MGM Grand recently launched a new specialty cocktail menu featuring seven handcrafted libations created by Emeril's beverage team.

The Animal Foundation in Las Vegas edged out 48 other shelters nationwide this summer to win the Grand Prize in the 2013 ASPCA Rachael Ray $100K Challenge. The Animal Foundation saved 1,055 more lives during the Challenge than they did during the summer of 2012. To celebrate their win, the Foundation is holding a “Happy Barktoberfest” special this month with adopters taking $50 off adoption fees of any dog 3 years or older.

REHAB'S 10TH SEASON ENDS WITH SUPERSTAR SEAN KINGSTON

Hard Rock will commemorate 10 years of REHAB with a performance by Sean Kingston followed by an after-party at Body English Nightclub & Afterhours on Sunday, Oct. 13. The famed singer recently released his third studio-album, “Back 2 Life,” which signifies a new chapter in his life after surviving a near fatal Jet Ski accident in 2011.

SOUTH POINT FEATURES SPECIAL EVENTS

South Point Arena will host a double-header Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) championship event Saturday, Oct. 12. The evening will start at 5 p.m. with the Flying Aces going head-to-head against Notorious VIP followed by the Championship Bout at 7 p.m. with the Hoover Damned derby girls facing off with the season seven champions, Tommy Gun Terrors. Tickets are $15 and $20 at the door.

The Outdoor Adventure Show will be in the arena Oct. 19-20 hosting an exhibit of motorsports, water sports, zip lining, off-road adventures and much more. Spectators will have the opportunity to receive free ski lift tickets courtesy of Eagle Point Ski Resort.

The Professional Bull Riding (PBR) Heroes and Legends Reunion will return to the South Point's Grand Ballroom for two days of celebration, honoring members of the PBR community. Fans will enjoy two days filled with every rider ever to compete in the Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS) level, since the PBR's inception, in attendance. Tuesday, Oct. 22 will begin with a PBR Heroes and Legends Reception from 5:30 to 7 p.m. immediately following, PBR hosts its annual Heroes and Legend Celebration from 7 to 9 p.m. Later in the evening, the BFTS Finals Kickoff Party will launch the week of PBR events from 9 p.m. to midnight. Wednesday, Oct. 23 offers two additional events for PBR fans. From 9:30 to 11 a.m., a PBR Founder's Forum will be held with all of the original names of the industry. In addition, fans have the opportunity to meet their favorite legends of the sport during the PBR Meet and Greet from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tickets begin at $100.

American Bucking Bull, Inc (ABBI) will return to the arena during the World Finals Oct. 22 - 26. The competition will begin at 10 a.m. daily. Spectators can enjoy a free vendor expo. Individual tickets are available for $10. Five-day ticket packages are available for $30.

The California Saddle Horse Breeders' Association Futurity Horse Show Oct. 31 - Nov. 2 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. will be an exquisite display of equestrian showmanship with a variety of young horse breeds. This event is free and open to the public.

ATOMIC TESTING MUSEUM AREA 51 SPECIAL LECTURE

During the government shutdown as an affiliate of the Smithsonian, the National Atomic Testing Museum is remaining open. On Oct.19, Ben Hansen and Ben McGee will present a special program at 7 p.m. - “Investigating UFO Videos: The Hoaxes & The Truly Unexplained.” Hansen is the lead host and investigator of SyFy channels “Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files.” He starred with McGee in National Geographic's television series, “Chasing UFOs.” Cost is $20 for members and $30 for non-members, call 702-794-5151.

GOODWILL OPENS ITS LARGEST STORE

On Friday, Oct. 11, Goodwill of Southern Nevada will open its largest store at 741 S. Rainbow Blvd. with a 17,000 square-foot sales floor, a convenient drive-up donation center, and a brand new Career Connections Training Center offering free workshops, training and education to job seekers. The 24,000 square-foot facility is six times the size of the original 4,000 square-foot Rainbow store at 3011 N. Rainbow Blvd. that was just closed.
