The Bellamy Brothers, Howard and David, with nearly 30 years of music success, will perform in Don's Celebrity Theater at the Riverside, Oct. 19-24. Tickets are $25 for the 8 p.m. shows, call 1-800-227-3849, ext. 616.
The first break came for the brothers in the form of the nationwide smash hit, "Spiders & Snakes," written by David and recorded by Jim Stafford. They officially lifted off their own launch pad in 1976 with their single, "Let Your Love Flow," which became an instant smash in both the U.S. and Europe.
Along the way, the brothers created a patent on the newly cool "duo" category in country music. In the era of the 2000's, The Bellamy Brothers hold the record in both the Academy Of Country Music (ACM) and the Country Music Association Awards (CMA) for the most duo nominations.
Their most recent international tour took them to Switzerland and Ireland, where they produced television specials in each country. Their duet project - with the working title "Angels and Outlaws" - is finally coming to fruition. Thirty plus guest artists from all genres of music have recorded their vocals on over twenty of the Bellamy's greatest hits and three new selections. Volume one is tentatively scheduled for a fall 2004 release on Curb Records.
Singer Jennifer Peña will appear in concert at the Outdoor Amphitheater at the Flamingo on Oct. 9 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $25, $30 and $35, call 1-800-435-8460.
Peña, who was born in San Antonio, has dedicated herself to music since age 11. In January 2002, shortly after celebrating her 18th birthday, she signed with Univision Records and produced her first hit single "El Dolor de Tu Presencia (The Pain of Your Presence)," which she penned.
After two years of constant touring in the U.S. and Mexico, she returned with her newest effort, a full-length album titled "Libre," which has earned her many awards and nominations. She has become a well established artist in Latin music.
Country legend Marty Stuart is bringing his classic country sounds to the Riverside, Oct. 13-17. Tickets are $26.
Since the age of 12, Stuart has been on the road performing and spreading the word of "hillbilly rock." In addition to singing about classic country staples such as tragedy and heartache, Stuart understands that lighthearted romps poking fun at hillbilly life are just as important. Stuart's recent album, "Country Music," has become a quick hit and encompasses everything its name implies.
