World-renowned illusionists Jonathan and Charlotte Pendragon will return to Harrah's Laughlin for an extended engagement in the Fiesta Showroom Sept. 8-Dec. 3. Tickets are $15.95, call 702-298-8510.

The Pendragons who met at the University of California, Irvine, describe their magic as "sensual," "gothic," " physical" and "theatrical." Their diverse show is a balance of large and small-scale illusions. They have entertained audiences through a tremendous number of appearances on network, cable and special television shows.

Both as a team and individually, the Pendragons have been greatly honored for their work. They received "The Magician of the Year" award on Fox Family's "World Magic Awards." Charlotte was the first woman to receive "The Magician of the Year" award from the famed Magic Castle and together she and Jonathan have won this honor twice. Charlotte was also the first woman voted into England's famed Inner Magic Circle, which is amazing because she is an American and because no woman had ever received this honor in the more than 100-year history of the organization.

Labor Day weekend entertainment at the Ramada Express spells comedy with laugh queen Elayne Boosler headlining, Sept 2 and 3. Tickets are $22.50, call1-800-243-6846.

Boosler's exposure to the world is enhanced by her extensive work on television. Besides every major talk show, she has had guest spots on "The Cosby Show," and done exclusive Showtime comedy specials that she wrote and starred in. In addition, the multi-talented lady wrote, produced, directed and starred in two half hour movies "The Call" and "Comedy From Here - A Drama." She has even done character voices for animated shows like "Duckman" and "Dr. Katz."

The last chance is here to win part of $83,000 in cash prizes at the Edgewater by entering their "Over the Edge Pro Football Contest. The contest involves picking the winners in the 17-week National Football League (NFL) season.

The contestant with the most wins at season's end will be awarded $10,000 for first place. Another $10,000 will be given to the person who finishes in the middle. There are weekly prizes also and tie-breaking procedures are in place for all situations.

"Over the Edge Pro Football Contest" entry cards are available for a one-time entry fee of $25. There's a limit of 10 entries per social security number. Five entries may be purchased for $110 ($22 per entry) and 10 entries cost $200 ($20 per entry). Official rules are posted in the Race and Sports Book.

The Colorado Belle will be kicking off the NFL season on Sept. 4, with the return of Monday Night Blitz, and this year, the Blitz is on all throughout the casino.

NFL action starts at 6 p.m. in the Boiler Room Microbrewery where the game can be watched on 23 TVs. K-FLAG radio personalities will help out with the return of the Football Toss for cash. Every time either team scores during the game, a ticket will be drawn for the Boiler Room Football Toss. Toss participants get three chances to throw a football through targets on the Toss Board. Targets are labeled $25 to $250. Toss participants can double their prize money if they have their Club Belle cards with them when they win. Participants must be 21 or older, must be present and must have valid photo identification to play.

All throughout the casino, slot, table, poker players and sports book wagers can earn drawing tickets between 6-10 p.m. At 10 p.m., Monday Night Blitz will move to the main casino floor for grand prize drawings, like NFL game tickets and licensed merchandise, Digital Satellite Systems, Video Recliners, televisions and more. Complete rules and details are posted at the drawing drums found at the Boiler Room entrance and at the foot of the Belle's Grand Staircase, and at the Club Belle booth in the casino.

The Shark's Club Poker Room at the River Palms is currently offering a few incentives to try out Laughlin's only poker room with a name.

One incentive is free cash. Six times a day, the room gives away $25 to one of the players sitting in on one of the live games. Daily at 10 a.m., noon, 2, 6, 8 and 10 p.m., a seat number is drawn and the person occupying that seat picks up a $25 bonus.

Another new feature is the Pot Limit Hold `Em Poker Tournament held every Friday night. The tournament begins at 10 p.m. with a $25 buy-in. Each participant receives $500 in tournament chips. Play is with $10 re-buys during the first 30 minutes of play with a double buy-in at the break (which means $1,000 in tourney chips for a $20 buy-in). There is a $200 add-on with a minimum of 10 players.
