"As Worlds Collide" is a new rock n' roll visual spectacular bringing together the saga of an extraordinary battle between good and evil with non-stop action, mega-scale illusions, and pyrotechnics in an ultimate rock n' roll concert experience.

On July 22 and 23, "As Worlds Collide" will premiere at the Aladdin Theatre for the Performing Arts on the 95-foot stage. Tickets are $40 and $65, call 702- 785-5055.
The 20-member cast highlights a live high-energy, five-piece SpellBinder rock band and a main powerful wizard character known as The SpellBinder, Emissary of Light. The Spellbinder battles the forces of evil in the form of another wizard, his arch-nemesis, Blackthorn, Sorcerer of the Dark. As the two forces fight for supremacy in their world, they wield their magical powers by creating illusions of destruction and redemption.
SpellBinder, the band, is drawn into the action of the story. The production involves intense set changes using illusions and props that reach upwards of 25 feet, and create larger-than-life imagery. Complementing this illusionary rock fantasy is one of the largest onstage pyrotechnic productions in the world.
"As Worlds Collide" has been a labor of love for illusion creator, producer, songwriter and star, Paul Haynes who plays The SpellBinder. Haynes says this production has been five years in the making and costs over $8 million dollars.
Earth, Wind & Fire, the musically accomplished '70s funk band, will return to the Las Vegas Hilton Theater, Nov. 9-12. Tickets are $55-$70 plus tax and service charge, call 702-732-5755 or 1-800-222-5361.
The group, which also incorporates jazz, smooth soul, gospel, pop, rock & roll, psychedelia, blues, folk, African music, and disco, was started by Maurice White, a Memphis-born, Chicago-reared drummer. White coaxed his younger brother, Verdine, to join him and they were called The Salty Peppers. White renamed the band Earth, Wind & Fire, which he took from his astrological chart (he's a Sagittarian - no water), and the rest is history. The group has won six Grammys and four American Music Awards while selling over 20 million albums in the United States alone.
The Rio recently completed a more than $2 million renovation to the Voodoo Café and Lounge, which includes two outdoor patios on the 50th and 51st floors of the Rio's Masquerade Tower 300 feet above the Las Vegas Strip.
The highlight of the remodel is the new winding Voodoo Lounge staircase that connects the Voodoo Lounge with the lower level Voodoo Café and features platforms for go-go dancers, a deejay booth and a special seating area right on the staircase. The open ironwork railing incorporates a number of intricate metal voodoo carvings, symbolizing love, sex, and money.

Before their separate careers, Jim and Dan Seals started playing music together at an early age in Texas. In the 1970s, Jim Seals and Dash Crofts formed Seals & Crofts, and Dan Seals was half of the duo, England Dan & John Ford Coley. Both groups had highly successful musical careers generating dozens of hits throughout the 1970s.
In the 1980s, Jim moved to Costa Rica to farm coffee while Dan had 11 number one hits as a solo artist. In 1986, Dan won CMA Awards for Single of the Year and Duet with Marie Osmond for, "Meet Me in Montana."
In 2002, Dan invited Jim to perform at the Grand Ole Opry, and the two brothers have been performing together and making hit songs ever since.

Comedian Joey Kola will headline the Riviera Comedy Club, July 18-24. He has done audience warm ups for "The Rosie O'Donnell Show," "The Jon Stewart Show," and VH-1's "Stand-Up Spotlight." Kola has amassed an impressive list of television appearance and been in two independent films, "Mixing Nia," and "The Deli" where he played the part of Joey Lonely. Bill Robinson and Arthur Gaus, who is making his Riviera debut, will appear with Kola.

The newest addition to the Tropicana is the Las Vegas Historic Museum, an exhibit giving a peek into Las Vegas' underworld, focusing on gaming, mobsters, entertainers and the brothels of Nevada. The museum, located in the space vacated by the Casino Legends Hall of Fame museum earlier this year, is open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Admission is $6.95 for adults and $5.95 for seniors and you must be 18 years or older or accompanied by an adult.
At the museum entrance, a video focuses on the Las Vegas Mafia and this section includes Bugsy Siegel's death certificate and a replica of the "black book" naming people banned from casinos.
Several entertainers like the Rat Pack members - Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., and Frank Sinatra - and others are featured via video and memorabilia.
The brothels in Nevada area gives customers a look into legalized prostitution. A variety of items from Las Vegas hotel / casinos, past and present, as well as information on several of the developers, can also be found in the museum.
The sexy male strip revue "Candyman - From Russia With Love" has closed at Fitzgerald's and will reopen at the Krave nightclub in the Aladdin on July 18. The new performance schedule will be nightly except Sunday at 7 p.m.
The Tropicana is bringing back Tropi-Karaoke to the Tropics Loung, July 13-Sept. 11, from 8:30 p.m. - 12:30 a.m. Each karaoke session is hosted by a rotating disc jockey/entertainer. Props and accessories are available to complete the transformation of the guests into "rock stars."
The Latin variety show, "Tropical Passion," abruptly closed at the Sahara.
