Earlier this month, the 200,000 visitors experienced the free patriotic multi-media show, "On the Wings of Eagles - A Tribute to American Heroes" and passed through the American Heroes Museum. Both are located in the Pavilion Theater at the Ramada Express.

The lucky visitors were Martha Siro and her brother, Luther Hannula of Bullhead City, AZ. They received specially designed "Wings" buttons, dinner for two in Passaggio Italian Gardens Restaurant, and two historical Jewel Tea mugs. Siro is 83 and Hannula is age 78 and a veteran of the Navy.

"On the Wings of Eagles" is shown on the hour from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. The presentation features images flashing on four giant screens with perfectly matching narration and music. The show is designed and produced by Miziker and Co., the creators of Disney's Electric Light Parade and the Lunar Laser Show at the NASA Visitor Center.

It's not too early to sign up for the Edgewater's "Over the Edge Pro Football Contest." The contest gives bettors a chance to win part of the more than $83,000 in cash prizes.

Bettors who make the best predictions during the 17-week pro football season will be in the money. The contestant with the most wins at the end of the season will be awarded $10,000 for first place. The person who finishes in the middle (closest to half wins and half losses) also wins $10,000.

Contestants must play all 17 weeks to qualify for the end of the season cash prizes. Participants may pre-mark parley cards for any number of weeks. Mail-in cards are not accepted.

The entry fee is $25. There's a limit of 10 entries per social security number. Five entries may be purchased for $110 ($22 per entry) and 10 entries may be purchases for $200 (20 per entry).

Tie-breaking procedures already established will be used to eliminate any possible weekly ties or end of the season ties for first through fifth place. There will not be a tie break for the end of the season middle prize. In the event of a tie, prize money will be aggregate among all middle prize winners.

The Oatman Ghost Riders Gunfighters get into a shoot-out at 6 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays at the Pioneer Hotel Gambling Hall. The free show has some of the ruthless cowboys "robbing" the cage in the Pioneer. On their way out of the casino they are accosted and made to pay for their actions by the good guys. The scenario has the good guys winning and the "money" being returned to the cage. For information on the Pioneer, call 800-634-3469 or 702-298-2442.

The Flamingo Hilton offers a $1 hot dog and beer special at the Riverwalk Sport Bar, located at the east end of the casino adjacent to the Riverwalk. The hot dog is a quarter-pounder and the beer is 16-ounces of draught. One dollar buys both.

Also, at the Riverwalk Sports Bar, guests 21 years or older may pick up a free bag of popcorn with a free 12-ounce Pepsi, just for asking.

The grand illusion act called The Pendragons are headlining in the Fiesta Showroom at Harrah's through June 25.

The Pendragons describe their magic act as sensual, gothic, physical and theatrical. Their ideas are drawn from their college studies. Jonathan and Charlotte Pendragon met at the University of California Irvine. He graduated with a degree in theater and she with a degree in dance.

Their large-scale magic applies the thought of a manipulator, adds drama to the performance and integrates the element of pure physical fitness. The duo have entertained audiences on network and cable television shows and performed for world dignitaries including the Queen of England, the Prince of Wales, and the Royal Family of Monaco.

Through the years, The Pendragons have received numerous awards, such as "The Magician of the Year" award on Fox Family's "World Magic Awards." Charlotte was the first woman to receive "The Magician of the Year" award from the Magic Castle, and together, they have won this award twice. Charlotte was also the first woman ever voted into England's Inner Magic Circle during its more than 100-year history.

Tickets to see The Pendragons are $15.95, and $13.95 for Harrah's Total Gold Card holders, call 702-298-4600.
