World-renowned illusionists Jonathan and Charlotte Pendragon will appear at Harrah's Laughlin in the Fiesta Showroom, May 1 - June 25.

The magic duo met at the University of California, Irvine. He graduated with a degree int theater, and she with a degree in dance. They describe their magic act as "sensual," "gothic," "physical" and "theatrical."

The Pendragons have made many television appearances and performed for a litany of dignitaries, including the Queen of England, the Prince of Wales, the Royal Family of Monaco, and the President of the United States.

Both as a team and individually, the Pendragons have been greatly honored for their work. They received "The Magician of the Year" award on Fox Family's "World Magic Awards." Charlotte was the first woman to receive "The Magician of the Year" award from the famed Magic Castle, and together she and Jonathan have won this prestigious honor twice. Charlotte was also the first woman voted into England's famed Inner Magic Circle, which is amazing because she is an American and also because no woman had ever received this honor in the more than 100-year history of the organization.

Tickets to see the Pendragons at Harrah's are 15.95 for those without a Total Gold card and $13.95 with the card, call 702- 298-4600.

Currently in its third smash year at the Silver Bullet Showroom, "Dancin' to the Hitz" at the Flamingo Hilton combines music and dance covering the past six decades. Since its inception in December 1997, the show has highlighted song and dance with a featured vocalist and a star of the show. Among the stars who have performed are Billy Hufsey, Donna Cherry, Steve Rossi, TJ Weaver, and Cliff Lawrence. The current star is Pudgy! The "Queen of Tease."

"Dancin' to the Hitz" plays nightly except Friday at 7:30 and 9:30 p.m. Tickets start at $9.95, $12.95 for VIP seating, and $4.95 for children, call 1-800-435-8469.

Sunny Turner's Platters will headline at the Ramada Express in the Pavilion Theater, May 27 and 28. This quartet takes audiences on a stroll through the Fifties with songs like "The Great Pretender," "My Prayer," "Harbor Lights," "Smoke Gets In Your Eyes" and "Twilight Time." Tickets to see Sonny Turner's Platters are $15.

"Diamonds & Pearls" closed at the River Palms this week and there are no plans to introduce a new show into the Crystal Sands Showroom. Instead, the showroom area will be converted into the Beach Club Bingo area. The present bingo room will be remodeled and the resort plans to open a new restaurant.

This weekend has been the 18th annual Laughlin River Run event with motorcycles everywhere. The Colorado Belle is offering two different gaming chips and commemorative Rockin' on the River Blackjack table layouts celebrating the Spring Run.

The Blackjack table layouts - the felt tops that cover the gaming tables - feature a screen of a motorcycle with the Colorado Belle logo on the gas tank. Layouts are dated "Spring Run 2000" and each is labeled with a number produced. Only 25 layouts are being sold. Interested collectors may contact a Casino Shift Manager or the Main Casino Cage.

Two Colorado Belle "Rockin' on the River" gaming chips are also available. The chips feature either a man or woman on a motorcycle on one side, and an eagle with spread wings on the other. Both chips are in a$5 denomination. Production of the chips was limited to 2000, and they can be purchased at the Main Casino Cage or at gaming tables. Velvet covered cases for holding and displaying the commemorative gaming chips are also available at the cage.
