Paul Anka will appear at the Rio Vista Outdoor Amphitheater on May 3. Tickets start at $35.

Canadian singer, songwriter and actor, Anka was born in Ottawa, Ontario, and became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 1990. He first became famous as a teen idol in the late 1950s and 1960s with hits songs like Diana, Lonely Boy, and Put Your Head on My Shoulder. He went on to write such well known music as the theme for The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson, Tom Jones' biggest hit She's A Lady, and the English lyrics for Frank Sinatra's signature song My Way.

In the 1960s, Anka began acting in motion pictures as well as writing songs for them, most notably the theme for the hit movie The Longest Day. Anka was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1993.

The Bellamy Brothers will perform at the Riverside, May 6-11 and 13-15. Tickets are $25 for their 8 p.m. shows.

Bellamy Brothers

The musical odyssey of the Bellamy Brothers, Howard and David, exploded nationally in the 70s. The Bellamys officially lifted off the launch pad in 1976 when their single, Let Your Love Flow, became an instant smash in both the United States and Europe. They toured and had sold-out concerts and shared stages with the likes of Loggins & Messina, the Doobie Brothers, and the Beach Boys, with their patented blend of rock/country music.

By the late 70s, The Bellamys were emerging on the country charts with another bona fide smash, If I Said You Had A Beautiful Body (Would You Hold It Against Me), which was originally scrawled on a dinner napkin by David. It proved to be the first of a string of 14 No. 1 singles in the United States alone.

Total Combat Entertainment debuted in November 2003 in Tijuana, Mexico. The objective was to provide mixed martial arts athletes a venue to showcase their skills in front of a live audience. Total Combat's first United States show was held October 2005 at a local casino in San Diego County. In 2006, Total Combat became the first California Athletic Commission sanctioned mixed martial arts event in Southern California.
