The American band of the original Woodstock era and Rock 'n Roll Hall of Famers, Crosby, Stills and Nash (CSN), will appear in concert at the Aladdin Theatre on May 31. Tickets are$40, $55 and $65, call 702-785-5000.

CSN has always sung about socially relevant issues and universal values. Upon its formation in 1968, the trio instantly became a phenomenon greater than the sum of its parts making them a true "supergroup." Each partner had already come from another hit-making band: Crosby from The Byrds, Stills from Buffalo Springfield, and Nash from The Hollies. CSN continues to enhance its legacy with new milestones and achievements, including a major concert tour this year.

Producer Bob Kephart and The Comedy Stop at the Tropicana are celebrating the 13th anniversary of the comedy club's existence in Las Vegas. The format continues to feature three very different comics weekly. Over the years, performers like Tim Allen, Ray Romano, Drew Carey, Jimmie (J.J.) Walker, Richard Jeni, Brett Butler, and Rosie O'Donnell, who helped open the club in Las Vegas seven years after Atlantic City's award winning club opened, have cut their teeth at the night spot. Vegas Cruise 2003, a special car show event, will be held at the Fremont Street Experience, May 9-11. Vehicles on display must be pre-1972 and registered for judging. Entry fee is $75 per car and limited to 200 registrants. The awards ceremony will be held on the Third Street Stage on Sunday at 10 a.m.

Along with food and drink specials and the Fremont Street Experience light and sound shows at night, the free event will also include entertainment from the '50s and '60s performing on two new entertainment stages from 6 to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Some of the acts that will be featured are Lil' Elmo & The Cosmos, Ronny & The Classics, The Spinners and The Grass Roots. For information, call 800-249-3559 or 702-678-5777.

"Tim McGraw & The Dancehall Doctors' ONE BAND SHOW" tour will stop at the Mandalay Bay Events Center on Saturday, May 10. Tickets are $35, $55 and $85, call 702-474-4000.

Last November, McGraw released his eighth album, "Tim McGraw & The Dancehall Doctors," which sold 602,000 copies in its debut week. The country music star kicked off his musical career in 1994, with a mufti-platinum album, "Not A Moment Too Soon." Since then, he has produced 19 number one singles, six multi-platinum albums and sold more than 25 million albums.

Mother's Day is quickly approaching. On Sunday, May 11, all women who dine at Benihana at the Las Vegas Hilton will receive a $15 certificate for a future visit. In addition, mothers will have the opportunity to register to win prizes, including a grand prize trip to Las Vegas with round trip airfare, a three-night stay and dinner for two. Master magician and illusionist David Copperfield will return to the MGM Grand1s intimate 740-seat Hollywood Theatre with his latest stage production show, "An Intimate Evening of Grand Illusion," May 8-21. Show times are 7:30 and 10 p.m. nightly, with Saturday matinees at 3 p.m. Tickets are $97 inclusive and the matinees are $79.90, call 800-929-1111 or 702-891-7777.

Paul Anka, a legend in the international music industry whose talent transcends five decades, will perform in the Hollywood Theatre, June 5 - 11. Anka's musical compositions have been recorded by the greatest names in the entertainment industry. Along with recording, he has achieved unprecedented success in venues including stage, screen, and television. Tickets for his 9 p.m. shows are $70 inclusive.

For the second year in a row, the Las Vegas Home Improvement and Decorating Show with over 250 exhibitors will be held at Cashman Center, May 16-18. The prestigious show will have carpeted isles, on-going seminars, and idea provoking displays. Special features will include an array of designer rooms created by some of the top interior decorators in Las Vegas.

Show hours are noon to 8 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors 60 and over, and free for children under 18 with a paid adult.

Attendees will have an opportunity to win a $10,000 home improvement package. The drawing will be held at 5 p.m. on Sunday and the winner doesn't have to be present. Additionally, each day, hundreds of attendees 21 and older will receive a 3-day, 2-night stay for two at the Edgewater in Laughlin.

Hailed as the "Concert King of the Philippines," Martin Nievera will bring his award-winning vocals back to the Theatre Ballroom at Golden Nugget on the following dates: May 15-18, May 22-25, May 29-June 1, and June 5-8. New and existing members of Golden Nugget's 24 Karat Slot Club may earn slot club points to qualify for rewards at several levels, including complimentary tickets, two-for-one concert tickets, a copy of one of Nievera's CDs, plus a chance to meet the star at an exclusive "Meet and Greet" cocktail reception on June 5.

In 1982, Nievera relocated from his birthplace of Hawaii to Manila to follow in the footsteps of his father, singer Bert Nievera. He quickly came into his own conquering television as a host of a late-night musical/variety show and the music industry with his debut album "Martin Take One," which turned platinum in five months. Nievera quickly rose to international status performing in the United States, Canada, the Middle East, Guam and Singapore.

"Zumanity" will premiere at New York-New York on July 31 and become the fourth Cirque du Soleil-produced show on the Strip. The other three are "Mystere" at Treasure Island, "O" at Bellagio, and Celine Dion's "A New Day" at Caesars Palace. A fifth one is scheduled for Steve Wynn's new mega-resort, Le Reve, currently under construction where the Desert Inn used to stand.

A couple weeks ago, Nick's on the Strip at the Polo Plaza shopping center closed. Currently, the small Strip mall is being remodeled.

The Rosewood Grille property, a two-thirds of an acre site next to the Venetian on the north side, has been sold by the LeWinter family to two Walgreens-developers. The LeWinters bought the land in 1962, after leasing it in 1957 for their dining establishment called Villa Venice. Over the years, the name also changed to Black Forest and Ye Old Lobster House.

Meanwhile, the LeWinters have reopened their popular restaurant next to their other eatery, Alan Albert's, at 3763 S. Las Vegas Blvd., across from the Monte Carlo.

NBC and DreamWorks Television will produce the first computer-generated-imaging (CGI) half-hour primetime series for a major broadcast network. "Father of the Pride" will be a family comedy series centering on a pride of Magical White Lions that perform in the world famous Las Vegas Siegfried & Roy spectacle at The Mirage and debut this Fall. Siegfried & Roy, who will also have CGI versions of themselves featured in the series, are executive producers along with their manager, Bernie Yuman.

The main storyline revolves around the competition between a family of snooty Royal White Tigers and a White Lion pride from the Las Vegas entertainment experience.

The team that brought us the big screen "Shrek," led by Jeffrey Katzenberg will bring us the project. Executive producer Jonathan Groff with NBC's "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" will write the pilot and Groff and Peter Mehlman from "Seinfeld" will also be writers on the series.

The Stardust's main headliner, 40 weeks a year, is "The Midnight Idol," Wayne Newton with a 20-piece orchestra; however, when he takes off the resort brings in other big names like Don Rickles, who will be paired with Judy Garland's daughter Lorna Luft, May 29-June 1.

Another booking will be actor Burt Reynolds, June 4-7. Last year he performed at The Orleans. Tickets are $39.95 plus tax, call 702-732-6325.

The Falls Clubhouse, an 18,000-square-foot, Tuscany-themed clubhouse with a 60-foot tall bell tower situated on the hilltop behind the 9th and 18th greens of The Falls Golf Club, and its signature restaurant, The Vineyard, are now open to the public. The Vineyard is open for breakfast and lunch and on the weekend for dinner, call 702-567-9410.

Visitors at Lake Las Vegas can use the complimentary trolley service that is offered daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. It makes stops at the new Ritz-Carlton and Hyatt Regency resorts, as well as The Fall and Reflection Bay Golf Courses and The Discovery Centre.

A new watercraft from Old Italy is now navigating the manmade lake. Two gondolas complete with gondoliers are available for day trips and dinner cruises.

VF Factory has opened three new stores at the Fashion Outlets of Las Vegas in Primm, Nev. Everything in the stores is half off the ticket price. The largest store is Lee, featuring jeans and casual garb. The Vanity Fair store offers intimate apparel and sleep wear. Healthtex has infants and children's clothes. Stores are open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.

Tod's boutique recently opened a store in the Forum Shops, making it one of only nine in the United States.

Beginning on May 8, Studio 54 at the MGM Grand will once again add DOLLHOUSE every Thursday night from 10 p.m. until the early morning hours. The arrangement is beautiful barely clad "DOLLS" serve as hostesses in place of cocktail servers with guests having the opportunity to dress them from outfits of their choice from nearby closets.

Tuesday nights at Studio 54 is EDEN, "Erotically Delicious Entertainers Night." Admission for men is $10, Tuesday through Thursday, and ladies are admitted free. For information, call 702-891-7254.

Mary Scinta, known as "Mama Scinta," rarely misses a performance of The Scintas (pronounced "Shin-tahs") featuring three of her four children Joe, Frank and Chrisse and drummer Pete O1Donnell at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino. In fact, she appears nightly except Tuesday in a special reserved booth in the Scinta Showroom.

Over the years, she has somewhat become a celebrity in her own right being introduced to the audience by the band in each show and occasionally making guest appearances.

Since The Scintas began performing as a group 25 plus years ago, Mama Scinta has always been there especially when Chrissi joined the group because she was just 14 years old. As the group began to play all over the country, Mama Scinta and their father - Joe, better known as "Bucko" followed the group across the country. After Bucko passed away, The Scintas along with Mama Scinta made their way out to Las Vegas.

The Scinta's high energy variety show takes audiences through the history of the close-knit Italian family and charts the years of their lives through great musical selections. Tickets are $59.95 plus tax, call 702-777-7776.
