A "covered" family show has been added to Bill Acosta's "Lasting Impressions" revue at the Flamingo Las Vegas. All the 7:30 p.m. shows on Tuesdays starting April 24 will be family oriented with a reduced ticket price of $49.95 for all seats. The 10 p.m. shows on Tuesdays, as well as the rest of the week's performances, will feature several dance numbers - topless.
It's back to the '50s and '60s when Little Anthony and The Imperials and Sonny Turner, former lead singer of The Platters, headline at the Stardust May 10-12. The engagement represents an encore for the co-headliners, who enjoyed three sold-out performances at the hotel last August.
Both groups have had unforgettable hits. Little Anthony and The Imperials went from easy-listening tunes like the million-selling "Tears On My Pillow" to chart-topping novelty tunes led by "Shimmy, Shimmy Ko-Ko Bop."

A couple weeks ago, the retired military transport plane that sat at the intersection of Koval Land and Reno Avenue for nearly 20 years was destroyed. The DC-124 Globe Master was practically a landmark that at one time was going to be converted into a restaurant and lounge. The blue and white airplane measuring 131 feet long and 48.5 feet high with a 174-foot wingspan always seemed to be smiling. There were only four of these aircraft left.

Comedy Central honored him with the starring role in the mini series '"Married Life." He's also had a role in the feature film "Speed II."

A contest sponsored by local KTNV News 13 GoalGetters, had young budding magicians from the school district explaining on paper, one of their own magic tricks or illusions. The top ten winners had the opportunity to be the guest of Rick Thomas and visit his exclusive tiger habitat, home of his white and Bengal show tigers. After the tour, each winner and a guest got to see his afternoon show "The Illusionary Magic of Rick Thomas" at the Tropicana.
