The Edgewater is currently staging a tribute show in the Events Tent in the resort's front parking lot called "Rock 'N' Roll Legends." As the name implies, the show presents a salute to big names in rock and roll history. Tickets for regular seating are $9.95, and $14.95 for premium seating.

The present line-up of performers includes Dean Z as Buddy Holly and Elvis Presley of the '50s; Denita Asberry as Tina Turner; Johnny Edwards as Elvis of the '70s; and Lance Lapinski as Jerry Lee Lewis. A live band backs each performer.

The Irish show, "Common Ground," is touring and will stop at the Ramada Express, March 25-27. The show offers a blend of traditional Irish dance, step dancing, and tap, in a journey going from Broadway hits like "Riverdance" up to the thundering rhythm of "Tap Dogs." Tickets are $15.

The Laughlin River Stampede will be held March 27-31, and feature the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) rodeo. This rodeo is ranked within the top 20 rodeos in all of the PRCA sanctioning, which totals more than 700 rodeos nation-wide.

National Finals Rodeo announcers of the year Bob Tallman and Johnny Pope will preside over the microphones. Five days of action will include all traditional rodeo events each day with the finals on Sunday being filmed for TNN.

The River Stampede Cowboy Poker event will be featured again. This challenge has four poker-playing cowboys sitting at a table in the middle of the arena. An angry bull is let loose and the last cowboy still sitting after the bull charges the table wins big money. For ticket information, call the Laughlin Chamber of Commerce at 702-298-2214.

The main entertainment will feature motorcyclist Troy Lerwill, also known as "The Wild Child," who was named specialty act of the year in 2001 by the Dodge National Circuit Finals Rodeo.

More than 700 professional rodeo contestants are expected back for the eighth annual event as well as 2002 Miss Rodeo America, Kara Brown of Texas.

Brown will be at the Colorado Belle's Boiler Room to sign autographs from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, March 29-30. She is a 23-year-old Texas A & M University senior majoring in biomedical science, who was selected for among 30 contestants representing their states.

The professional rodeo's favorite rock 'n' roll band, Ricky & the Redstreaks will perform March 28-30, at Harrah's during the Laughlin River Stampede. This band brings its upbeat renditions of classic '50s and '60s hits and a blend of humor to the resort's Convention Center with performances at 9 p.m. each night. Tickets are $10 plus tax at Harrah's Box Office. A free beverage comes with each ticket purchase.
