"Laughter In Bloom," a one man show starring impersonator Eddie Carroll as Jack Benny, will play at the Ramada Express, Jan. 19 - 22. Tickets are just $15, call 1-800-243-6846.

This one-man, multi-media show features Carroll as Jack Benny telling the audience about his life in show business. Carroll has been performing this part for over 15 years. His achievements in the entertainment field have spanned every area of show business - the Broadway stage, motion pictures, television, movies of the week, a weekly series, songwriting and his acclaimed one-man show.

Carroll's original Jack Benny production opened in Los Angeles. Since then, he has continued to perform the show in theaters across North America, as well as engagements in Las Vegas, Reno and Atlantic City. His performance has earned front-cover stories, numerous honors, and in-depth profiles on network television.

A native of Edmonton, Alberta, Carroll over the years has appeared in over 200 commercials and used his voice-over talents in more than a hundred animation, radio and television spots. He's enjoyed working for Walt Disney as the voice of Jimmy Cricket since 1973.

When Carroll is not on tour, he and his wife Carolyn, who is currently writing a book on "Touring the World with a Husband and Two Suitcases!," relax at home in Encino, Calif.

For the tenth straight year, top SCORE Desert Racers are preparing to start their 2004 season at the annual SCORE Laughlin Desert Challenge, Jan. 15-18. Drivers and pit crews will compete for more than $300,000 in prize money and contingency postings during the four-day desert off-road race.

Daily general admission tickets, good for grandstand seating, are $15 each day on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday; children five and under are free. Daily

VIP tickets are $35 for each of the three days. They are good for admission to the Laughlin Hospitality Chalet, which includes food beverage and special seating. Tickets now on sale at 1-800-227-5245 are also available for three other designated spectator areas around the course.

The stadium seating area will include the SCOREvision large-screen LCD display that debuted last year, showing live footage from various locations around the race course.

At a cost of $10 per vehicle, there are two areas off of Nevada State Highway 163 adjacent to the race course as well as the "SCORE Hill," which overlooks the infield, start / finish area and the main pits. Admission to these areas is on a first-come, first-served basis and no camping is permitted. These areas will have limited refreshment and public safety services.

The popular Laughlin Leap will begin the fun at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 15. Drivers and pit crews will share the spotlight and compete for a $16,000 purse. A dirt ramp built into the middle of the arena will challenge the drivers and the top car or truck as they go airborne for more than 110 feet.

On Friday, Jan. 16 at 4:30 p.m., the Pit Crew Showdown will have the entire racing team competing for a $10,000 purse. In this pit crew event, the vehicle must pull into the pit, have all four tires replaced, and then race out of the pit before the clock stops. But there's a twist. This competition doesn't take place on a level slab of concrete, and the unusual shocks required to compete in desert racing require that the vehicle be lifted several feet into the air.

Over 130 racers and their crews will converge on the city. There will be a total of 16 different classes for cars and trucks split into seven groups. They will race over the much-abbreviated 11-mile loop. Racing action runs from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day.

For more information, contact SCORE at its Los Angeles headquarters 1-818-225-8402 or visit www.score-international.com.

The Colorado Belle is offering a special SCORE vacation getaway starting from $99 that includes two night's accommodations for two on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 16-17, $10 in gift certificates valid in six Belle restaurants and the main gift shop, general admission tickets to the races on Saturday, Jan. 17, and a certificate for a free night to use on a visit next winter, Sunday-Thursday, from Nov. 1, 2004 - Jan. 27, 2005. For reservations, call 1-800-477-4837 and ask for the SCORE vacation getaway.

Prize drawings for cash and great prizes will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 16-17, at the Colorado Belle's Grand Staircase. Each night, $1,000 in cash will be given away along with $75, $50 and $25 in restaurant gift certificates plus two different vacation getaways at the Belle. Winners must be present to claim prizes.
